Vampire Diaries may be a repeat this week, but the goodies just keep rolling out from New York Comic Con this past weekend. First up, Nice Girls TV has their own press room video with Julie Plec and Steven R. McQueen, touching on “bad ass Jeremy,” the awkward Alaric that scene that was never shot (BOO, HISS!), the strange forces that may eventually make an appearance in Mystic Falls, Caroline, Steven’s inability to work his computer, why the show is willing to “go there,” the overall “diabolical master plan,” and the problem with absolving Damon of his worst deeds.

The next four episodes in particular are promised to contain “an explosion of information” and by Thanksgiving, we’ll all know more about several lingering backstories. When someone asked about deviating from the canon of the books, Plec explained that the showrunners were excited to be able to “go there” and shock people with new takes on the original source material as well as their own addition.

“Anybody who thinks they’ve got a bead on Katherine is going to be sorely mistaken. I will say that in what they do, they learn just how diabolical she really is and the lengths she’s willing to go to. And yet when all is said and done, there’s a slight element of victory.”

There’s going to be a new guy in Mystic Falls soon, and to paraphrase the bard Spears, he’s not that innocent. He’s a huge fan of the dark arts — and specifically, he knows an awful lot about the Bennett family. Put another way, Bonnie is getting a groupie, and she’s not happy about it at all!
