KryptonSite gave us some sweet stills earlier this evening, and now we have the official episode description for A Few Good Men, the 15th episode of The Vampire Diaries (thanks, Craig!). Highlight to read or head to the Episode Index:
MELINDA CLARKE (“THE O.C.”) GUEST STARS AS MATT’S LONG-LOST MOTHER — Matt and Caroline are surprised by the sudden reappearance of Matt’s mother Kelly (guest star Clarke). Stefan and Elena are worried about Damon’s new attitude. Damon is asked by Sheriff Forbes to take part in a fund-raising bachelor auction. Alaric discovers shocking secrets from his own past. With help from Jenna and Stefan, Elena is determined to find out everything she can about her birth mother, but the truth may be more than she can handle.
Josh Butler directed the episode written by Brian Young.
The Hollywood Reporter talked with CW President Dawn Ostroff about the upcoming pilot season and she gives her perspective on what The Vampire Diaries adds to the network’s line-up (and even touches on the possibility of a spin-off):
THR: Between the durability of “Smallville,” “Supernatural” and the popularity of “Vampire Diaries,” should the CW head in a more genre-driven direction?
Ostroff: What “Vampire Diaries” has done so well is that it’s not just a genre show, it has romance and humor and friends that feel like family. There are so many elements that work on different levels. So although it is a genre or sci-fi show, it has a lot of other elements that make the show work for all of our audience. We picked up a show called “Be-Twixt,” which is a genre show if you will, but it has many of the same elements.
