The CW has released the official synopsis for the BRILLIANTLY TITLED December 6th episode of The Vampire Diaries: We’ll Always Have Bourbon Street (EP408). Highlight for spoilers:

A FLASHBACK TO NEW ORLEANS IN 1942When Stefan ({Paul Wesley) confronts Damon (Ian Somerhalder) with a suspicion about Elena (Nina Dobrev), Damon has no choice but to help Stefan investigate. Searching for answers, Damon and Stefan visit modern day New Orleans to see if they can find anyone who remembers the events of their last visit in 1942, including one of Damon’s former flames, Charlotte (guest star Madeline Zima). Elena, Caroline (Candice Accola) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) share a girls’ night while the Salvatore brothers are out of town, and emotions run high when Elena delivers some shocking news. At Hayley’s (guest star Phoebe Tonkin) urging, Tyler (Michael Trevino) confronts one of Klaus’ hybrids, Kimberly (guest star Alyssa Diaz), and the situation quickly escalates into violence. Finally, Damon is faced with a heartbreaking decision.

The episode was written by Charlie Charbonneau and Jose Molina and directed by Jesse Warn.

I agree. Why should Damon be the one to be heartbroken all the time. These writers need to either let him be solo{NO Elena!!} or give him a love interest that is actually worthy of him. Someone who gives off a strong woman personality. Last nights episode poved just how unstable and weak Elena is. She is always going to end up hurting the boys, and I for one was so glad that Stefan finally broke things off with her. Now all we need is for Damon to realize that she is NOT the woman for him.

Please don’t let Damon’s “heartbreaking decision” be about him not being able to be with Elena or something to that effect.  I mean for the love of god just let those two be together for more than five minutes!  Damon really deserves to be happy by now.

I know everyone is thinking Elena is sired to Damon but wouldn’t we know by now? She never listens to anything Damon tells her, she wouldn’t get off the bridge with him in the last episode. No other vampire we saw on the show was sired to the one who turned them. Damon and Stefan were never sired to Katherine. Caroline wasn’t sired to Katherine. I just don’t understand why Elena would be sired to Damon. That would only be heartbreaking for us DE fans and would be a huge slap in the face to Damon. But of course, it would make stefan happy. Isn’t that the point of the show? Making Stefan happy and the good guy. UGH

With a title like, “We’ll Always Have Bourbon Street” AND Damon makes yet another heartbreaking decision….perhaps he ends up having to kill his “former flame”, Charlotte, for some reason!! Just a thought…
