You should probably prepare yourself for more of “a witch can contradict the established mythology” thinking in S4 because Bonnie seems to be able to come up with a counter spell for everything despite being a relatively new witch not to mention her being the ONLY witch in town.

Th Reckoning was a good one. I liked the Damon and Katherine road trip. Katherine’s attempt to seduce Damon in the car but he pushes her away. Damon’s “I wouldn’t have done it for you” to Katherine. She actually looked offended.

I liked Smells Like Teen Spirit. Stefan with the girls playing “Ripper” Twister. Damon basically switching responsible roles with Stefan. The hot scene where Damon shows Elena how to get to a vampires heart. Barbie Klaus trying to figure out how to work the keg and make smores. Elena stabbing Stefan. Ah good times. I really would’ve liked to see Stefan stay bad longer. Too short of an arc.

I of course love Heart of Darkness as well. The rare interaction between Stefan and Alaric. The fight scene was great when Ric started taunting Stefan. Revisiting the close talks Elena and Damon have had lying next to each other especially after her being so mean to him previously. The way the closeness and touch of Damon’s hand affect Elena. No doubt I enjoyed the explosion outside between them. BUT they just had to ruin that brief encounter by her I don’t know crap. Lastly I think it was a little too easy for Esther to jump into Bex’s body. It started out great but ended a little off for me.

I can’t believe how close this person’s writing is to what I anticipate will happen with Elena’s transition and the non-existant triangle. We need to start drinking now!

I voted for 3×19. I thought the finale was okay, but Elena turning was fairly predictable. I thought 3×21 was a better episode than 3×22 (The Departed).
