Despite the fact that a few people were worried about competing with the World Series, the Vampire Diaries has yet again managed to wow us with viewing figures: 4.2 million viewers by the end of the show, knocking “Lost Girls” off the top spot for highest viewing figures since the pilot episode (which drew in 4.8 million viewers). As if that wasn’t enough, the show has also drawn in its highest rating ever for adults in the 18-34 age range. From TV by the Numbers:
For the CW, Vampire Diaries had its highest rating ever in adults 18-34 (2.3), matched its series high in women 18-34 (3.1 rating), and had its second best performance of the year in adults 18-49 (2.0 rating)

I must say that I enjoy the episodes much more when I download them from Amazon the next day and can watch them sans the commercial interruptions every freaking five minutes.
I’m enjoying the series in its own right, completely apart from the books. Denise Stoltenberg(Quote)
