i want to know who that creepy person was that was walking towards elena after the car crash i wonder why there wasnt a preview for the next episode though i wonder whats going to happen next i cant wait XD

Micky, the reason why there was no preview for next episode is that there isn’t going to BE one. The show is going on its holiday hiatus, returning January 14, 2010 with the remaining 12 episodes of TVD for the season.

They are airing a week long marathon 2 episodes a night of the first 10 shows starting on Monday in mid-December, but to see promos for new episodes, you’ll just have to wait until it gets closer to January.

Even though I knew how it would end, I thought the scene between Stefan and Elena in the courtyard was completely believable and really, really well done. I didn’t really care what came after, to be honest, because they sold it to me in that moment. And Nina sold it in the car, too – I know there’s some yawning and eye-rolling going on with more waffling, but in this case – c’mon. As if finding out the guy you’re into is a vampire, all the drama that entails, and then you guys finally GET IT OUT and you discover you’re the physical copy of the woman who’s at the center of all this grief? THAT freak-out I get. Big general props to Nina and Paul on all of that.

As for my favorite scene – I’m sorry to see Logan go if that’s the Damon we get, specifically when he’s being pumped full of bullets and digging them out of himself. I’m sorry. I can’t help it. I like the Salvatores getting hurt – it’s a thing – and pained, annoyed, sarcastic Damon is one I can get fully behind. And it’s also why I’m going to grit my teeth and not cringe over him using a gun later in the episode – eye for an eye and all that, but… Yeah.

And FORESHADOWING FTMFW. That shot of Tyler beneath a full moon? The general, barely checked Lockwood aggression flaring up? Alaric using the very specific phrase “alpha male douche bag.” Best school career fair EVER?

I keep loving Jeremy more and more – his vulnerability and obvious search for *something*. I feel comfortable saying that getting Vicki out of the picture was beyond smart, especially when it comes to his character.

And, finally, I freakin’ LOVE Alaric, and I don’t want him going anywhere any time soon. I can’t even properly articulate what he brings to the table, so here’s me making flaily hands and saying “Alaaaaahric” over and over, but – yes. YES.

OMG Vee I agree with EVERYTHING you said!!! Nina and Paul totally sold it, and that foreshadowing was GORGEOUS. Wow. True Blood, what? Haha!

I totally get Elena’s freakout. I mean, come on, she just gave herself to the guy she loves and then finds out that he may only love her/want her because she looks like Katherine. I would lose it, too. Big time.

Not gunna lie…the last seen? Nina is an AMAZING actress. I totally believed that she had just been in this huge car crash. It even sounded like she was gunna start coughing up blood…How does she DO that? Definitely admire her skills…

…and did anyone else think the creepy person that caused the crash in the last seen looked like a zombie with the arm bending and everything? freaky…

Yes with the foreshadowing! I was sitting next to a friend watching it, and I just sat there saying, “Foreshadowing…foreshadowing…foreshadowing…” but she hadn’t read the books, so she didn’t get it, haha.

I have to say that I LOOOOOOVE THIS EPISODE. The love scene between Stefan and Elena made me cry because was so beautiful. This was one of the BEST episodes. To the all cast and crew, you did an AMAZING JOB and we’re gonna miss you. I’m from Puerto Rico and this series have a lot of fans. I CAN’T WAIT for January, but at least we have the marathon on December 14th

I can’t believe what Tyler is! Loved the moon foreshadowing and his pained expression. Haha.

Who the hell was that zombie guy at the end? For some reason I thought it might’ve been Damon, but who knows.

Maybe the zombie wasnt a guy.. First name that popped in my head was: KATHERINE. I mean. Logan was near the tomb or somewhere under the ground there or maybe in there.. I didnt really got that, but if he was there and he could get out, then why couldnt some other vampire get out then?

Also, the man who caused the crash… I bet it’s Klaus (or whatever name they give him) and he is there to free Katherine too.

OMG!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS EPISODE! I totally loved all the acting in this one. superb… And I get why Elena reacted to the photo of Katherine the way she did, but I think it was stupid of her to take the necklace off since stefan told her why she should never remove it! Which is why I totally think it’s Damon walking up to her car after it flips over. But to go back to the whole woman scorned or betrayed thing, I totally would have cussed stefan out until he explained to me why he chose to pursue me even though I looked exactly like the psycho B*%#@! that turned him if he truly wasn’t trying to tie me to that horrible time in he and Damon’s life? All I know is that it would have been way to hard for me to just up and leave the house without knowing.

I think Elena taking off the necklace is symbolic of her basically saying, “You don’t tell me everything, so you don’t get to protect me.”

If I were here and I saw an ancient picture of myself, I wouldn’t have just put the necklace on the photo, I would’ve ran out of there screaming. Cause if you look at it, it’s sorta creepy that he carries around a picture of someone that looks a lot like her. She probably thought, “OMGWTF He photoshopped a pic of me!”

What a great episode & cliffhanger! Can’t believe we have to wait until January 14th for the next new episode.

Well, as for the cliffhanger – I think that Elena taking off her necklace was obviously very significant. Now she is not protected against Damon’s influence. I was thinking that was him on the road and I’m worried about how she sounded in the car – gurgling blood….could it be that she’s dying and he will turn her to save her? Or he will somehow put her under his influence now that the necklace isn’t protecting her?

Otherwise this could be a completely new character she met on the road. Dunno as haven’t read the books.

I’m confused about Alaric. What is he? Vampire hunter? I thought he also needed to be ‘invited’ into Elena’s house that time so I was presuming he was some supernatural being, but dunno now.

Honestly, I think the episode really lived up to its name as “THE TURNING POINT.” Although, I really want to know who the person was that Elena encountered with when she had the accident. I`m hoping that it`s NOT Klaus nor Katherine since I don`t want them to appear JUST YET considering the fact that in Episode 9, “History Repeating,” Emily destroyed the crystal, so it would be kind of weird. && if it indeed is Katherine, won`t that mean that the other vampires MIGHT be free too? So, I`m just hoping that it would either be Damon or Stefan who`ll be there since they`re impossibly fast. Till the next episode, I think I`ll just be enjoying myself with watching Vampire Diaries episode 1-10 OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. :)

Most shows go on hiatus over the holidays – cast and crew deserve a break as much as everyone else. It also gives the writers time to play catchup. And given it’s now the time of year when people go to Christmas parties and the like, TV viewing is spotty, so viewing figures aren’t always great. It’s also the perfect time of year to put on holiday specials that will draw other people in… basically, any or all of those reasons, probably more.

loved everything in this episode! :) but could it be possible that “the thing” that caused Elena’s accident could have been Lee, because there were posts about him previously. I personally hope that it’s Damon or Stefan (Damon esp. ) :D

no he is not, in the book he is a vampire slayer. sort of like Damon in the show. but no it is getting realy confusing because of all of the details. btw f=dose anyone know when the next new V.D. is going to be on? I’m estadic!!

I think the man Elena crashed into was the one from the very first episode. You know how they swerved him and then he ate them? I reckon Damon finds Elena because he’s in the forest and tells Stefan. I loved “The Turnning Point”! The scence where she tells him she loves him is my favorite. I keeps watching it.

I’m not angry at Stefan about the photo. He loves Elena fro who she is and not who she looks like . . . well that’s part of it. I am angry and Elena for running like that! Don’t know why, I screamed at the Tv when she did. Kinda funny, I was like: “What the hell are you doing?!”

Nina’s acting really was fantastic in the crash scene. I cried. I think Stefan would have told her about Katherine. I like this show better then the Twilight series. Paul is my NO#1 Vampire now. I think Alaric may be a vampire or something. Tyler deffinatly is a werewolf.

The love scene was great. I really like Paul, he’s a great Stefan. When his eyes go all wierd and Elena kisses him eventhough he has veins stickin g out he looks surprised and confused, like “What? You don’t care?” I wouldn’t he’s awsome. Nina and Paul are great actors and I admire their work. Can’t wait untill January 21st! YAY!
