I don’t believe he compelled her either. My comment was a counter question to those who think he did.

 That was very clever bit of misinformation JP&Co gave us there, then having Caroline latch on to it as evidence.  In truth , Elena did not change position, she gave it a second pass and voiced it’s consideration.  At that point she was interested in Damon (Notice her instant nervousness, preening up, and posing by the desk rather then leaning casually) and did not want to shut him down, so she gave the dress, for his sake, a second look and admitted that it was indeed pretty.  If the Sire Bond had forced her acquiescence to Damon’s Will, she’d have said, “Damon’s right, you should go with the Red.” or something else endorsing it, instead she agreed that it was nto a bad idea and dropped it.

In summery, she was acting on her desire to please the man she was emotionally pursuing, like any girl would, not slavishly following the dictates of her Master.

 They are gonna have some evil cliffhanger too.  At least Nina and Ian ARE shooting scenes together.  Rules out Damon’s dying rumors (not that I ever believed them).

This is exactly my point.  I for one would not be nearly as committed or as supported in my opinions of what happens in TVD, had it not been for all the various and often opposing points of view I’ve encountered here by all these great people.  I’ve come to rely on this body of posters.

Rebekah escapes from the island and her and Elena are looking for something in NY that might help Damon cause Damon is really still on the island and this is only his ghost helping out/guiding them???? Reaching?? Lol

 Strange that Damon is always fooled by Katherine when she impersonates Elena and Stefan never is. Has to mean something.

Damon was only fooled by Katherine one time – the first night she  came to town and no one had any idea that she was there.  Stefan was fooled by Katherine three times – all of them after he already knew she was around and disguising herself as Elena. That is kind of strange because you’d think he would have been the first one to recognize the differences between the two women, especially when he was on his guard for it to happen. 

Damon is usually more perceptive about people and situations than Stefan so I don’t think it’s actually supposed to mean anything other than the fact that Kat is really good at being sneaky and manipulative when it comes to the brothers. 

Oh, I guess he thought it was Elena at the end of 3×04 at first, but they did just have a fight, so it wasn’t unreasonable to expect her to come over and want to discuss it further.

I don’t know why you keep saying this, they have both been fooled…

Stefan momentarily was unaware that Kat was Elena untill he hugged her in season 2, and of course, he would know his own girlfriends “feel” better than Damon, thats normal. When Damon actually kissed her he paused and made a face for a while, and Im sure he would be thinking something along the lines of…” Holy crap, the doppleganger likeness is uncanny..” As he had never kissed E before, I think it is only normal that he wouldn’t suspect a thing. Not to mention the fact that they never imagined she would show up…

Later on down the line, in s3, Kat doesnt succeed in fooling Damon as he instantly goes for her throat but Stef walks in finding them and then doubts Elena… So he then goes to throttle her… She also snuck into his bed once and it took him some time to realize it was her.

After they were both aware that Kat was in town, both brothers have been conscious that Kat could try to trick them, and they have both failed/succeeded in spotting her at different times…

Might I add how kat fooled Stefan at the council event where she vervained Stefan/ broke his neck ( cant remember) and drove off with Elena…

This is not True Blood.  Once a vampire has been invited past a threshold, they may enter as they please until the house changes owners.  It is why they worried after learning that Katherine had been invited into the Gilbert house, and why they had to kill that vampire in season 1, because the house was no longer safe.  If they could “uninvite” a vampire, none of that would have mattered.

 My bad I was wrong they were arguing and she told him to leave.  I thought the humans could revoke an invite with the vampires.
