Esther is not organizing a formal ball just to kill Elena, but she is definitely the almighty powerful “Original” witch. 

We are being led to believe Esther came out of the 4th coffin, but I’m skeptical, or just in denial.  The 4th coffin should have held Tatia, the Petrova maiden Klaus and Elijah were in love with as humans and the girl that Katherine and Elena are the doppelganger of. 

Esther used Tatia’s blood in 2 spells = 1. Tatia’s blood laced the goblet of wine the family drank from to complete the transition into vampires. 2. Tatia’s blood was used to bind the werewolf side of Klaus after the family was already vampires. It was realized that Klaus was not Mikael’s son, which is why Mikael killed the werewolf father and his clan, as well as wiping out half the village the Original family lived in. In order to break the spell that bound his werewolf side, Klaus had to kill the doppelganger of Tatia, the woman he loved, in a sacrifical ritual.   How cruel was Esther to do that to her son? 

Also, did Klaus turn Tatia into a vampire and if so, at what point did that happen, or did she refuse?  The scene between Klaus and Caroline, was that reminiscent of something that happened to Klaus one thousand years ago?   Whatever happened between Klaus, Elijah and Tatia, will it be repeated between Damon, Elena and Stefan? 

The story of the Originals and that fateful night Esther was supposedly killed by Klaus is still being told.  The dynamics of what happened will be brought into present day Mystic Falls.
 
This is the year of the Originals.  

 Stefan didn’t know she saw Damon…there is NO line which would underline that point. Stefan only knew that both brothers wanted her. He even said in 1×06 “I didn’t know it at the time, but… Turns out that night… Katherine was with him, too.” and he also said that “I know I’m in competition for your affection” but he didn’t know she was already together with Damon who on the other knew that Katherine wanted not only him, she told him she wanted Stefan too. So Damon knew what he was doing while Stefan got compelled from Katherine to continue with her and “it doesn’t change the way you feel about me” and she didn’t let him choose if he wanted to have a threesome or not. I don’t think that Stefan was in a better position. Both wanted her and both got her.

Stefan has giving up everything also Elena to save Damon and Damon doesn’t even have the balls to tell his own brother that he kissed Elena and wants more from her….but he can rub it under Bonnie’s nose and try to get more from Elena knowing that his brother still loves her, but can’t see a way back to her and has lost himself in drining blood. I think Damon should put Stefan at first and try to help him. And it is Elena’s decision what she wants, but Damon doesn’t act respectful towards his baby bro.

ARE U KIDDING ME?!?!?! Ok first Stefan knew that Damon wanted Katherine, that was pretty obvious, “competing for her affection” yes, blah blah I remember everything Stefan said….Stefan knew perfectly well regardless of what he told Elena, he was the anger in Damon’s face when him and Katherine were dancing, and like i said he gloated about it and didn’t bother to hesitate that night telling her he loved her, and actually what Stefan said was that it turned out Katherine wasn’t there’s to have. BUT he still didn’t bother to back away and he was NEVER compelled by her, he was only compelled to not be afraid of her……and as for “Stefan giving up everything” I am sooooo tired of hearing that, Stefan and Damon have both saved each other lives time and time again, Stefan lost all he lost cause of himself NOT because of Damon. How many times could Stefan have gone back to Elena?? He chose not to. Even AFTER Klaus called off his hybrids That was his fault, nobody else’s just his. He lost his friends, he lost Elena, cuz of HIM. Like Klaus said, he only has himself to blame….Damon definitely has the balls to tell Stefan, HE’S DONE IT BEFORE(even if it was Katherine at the time). And Damon didn’t rub anything under anybody’s nose, Bonnie asked a question, and he gave an answer, and no he did not know that Stefan still loved her, Stefan didn’t bother to confirm that till just now!!! All he’s been telling Elena is, IDC what u think of me anymore,  I don’t wanna be with you, blah blah blah, and what he’s been telling Damon, “She’s your problem now” WTF?!? Is Damon suppose to read between the lines?? He even told Klaus, I KNOW MY BROTHER BETTER THAN ANYTHING AND RIGHT NOW I HAVE NO CLUE HOW FAR HE’S WILLING TO TAKE THIS” IDTS….Damon has ALWAYS put Stefan first when it comes to Elena, Hiding the bad Information from Elena, so she can still have the image of “Saint Stefan” in her mind.  Distracting Klaus so Stefan and Elena can have a moment alone, almost getting killed in the process. Going up against wolves in the woods, so Elena can find her “beloved” Stefan, constantly telling Elena that Stefan is worthy of her, “I don’t deserve you but my brother does” Even when they went up against Klaus and Elena was lying dead on the floor, Damon went to unstake Stefan and asked “What about you?” Damon is always respectful of Stefan, especially when Damon took the time to track Stefan down the entire summer, NOT making moves on Elena, it’s Stefan that doesn’t show respect for Damon at all. My god, u should really go back and rewatch some episodes, so u can see what I see. When’s the last time you heard Stefan say anything nice about Damon??? Damon has tried to help Stefan plenty, it’s not his fault that Stefan can’t stop being such a dick and lying all the time. You can’t help someone that doesn’t wanna be helped. Now that Damon could possibly have a chance with Elena, and Stefan can see the affection that Elena has for Damon, no he wants to do something about it??? WTH kinda crap is that?!? I think Damon has waited long enough, and it’s clear that Elena has been leaning more towards Damon for a while, and Stefan sees that, why now he feels threatened about losing her, beats that crap outta me. Especially when he said to her “You lost me the second I left with Klaus you just haven’t accepted it yet” He deserves to try and win her back, but he shouldn’t try just to stop Elena from being happy with Damon, again selfish on his end, if he really loved Elena he’d let her go, and she can be with whoever she wants to be with, Elena even told him she wasn’t gonna be in love with a ghost the rest of her life, yea ok he didn’t have humanity at the time, but when he got it back it’s not like he forgot everything she said, he just kept making things worse, Stefan had to know it was coming, he can’t be that dumb, especially giving Damon permission to stay in love with her all he wants, and when he TRIES to win her back it’s not gonna be easy, and i can’t wait to see the pain on his face, cuz he deserves every bit of it, and now he can be on the outside looking in, just like Damon did for a year and a half.

 If there was a struggle, wouldn’t Alaric have seen the killer?  It would have needed to be quick stab and out for him not to have gotten SOME sense of the killer.

Are you guys serious? So, L.J.Smith was taken off the books because she wanted to build the Damon and Elena and they didn’t want her to? What dies that even mean? So all this build up on the show between Damon and Elena, and she is supposed to be with Stefan the whole time? You know I read the books, up to the latest one, I don’t want to give anything away, but in Phantom, she still struggles with her feelings for Damon… even though she would never give him a chance because she is crazy about Stefan!!!
Anyway, the show is nothing, I mean nothing like the books… which is something I actually like about the show! So why do they have to stay true to the book, when they haven’t stayed with the book for anything else?!!
And I also noticed that at the beginning of each episode it says ‘based on the BOOK by LJ Smith’ not books… so I thought they just took the concept from her and not the whole story line!
If they have been just playing us this whole time with this storyline it would really suck… I really hope that is not the case.
I read somewhere else that people thought Julie Plec is more for Elena and Stefan, but I have never gotten that impression from her interviews, so I don’t know!!! Hope she isn’t just dangling a carrot!!!

I think you’re right, there’s a reason we didn’t see what was in that 4th coffin!!! It isn’t Esther, it’s gotta be someone else… misdirection! It makes more sense. But how did Esther show up all of a sudden? Could it be that the spell Bonnie and her mom were doing released her from whatever dimension she was in?
And I think Elijah knew who is in the coffin, it’s not Esther… He was shocked to see her because he had no idea she was going to show up!!! But he seemed to know who was in that 4th coffin, or that it was something that could hurt/ kill Klaus.

The TV series stands on its own so I do not see why anything going on with a book series has anything to do with the TV show.  Julie & Kevin are telling their own Vampire Diaries story.  :)

I hope you’re right because it would suck to haveno Damon and Elena!
I read a few posts that Julie Plec is a diehard Stefan and Elena fan, but I really hope that’s not the case and she’ll give Damon and Elena a chance! They are beautiful and have come so far!

Your last sentence interested me a great deal: part of the mythology is that a witch can’t be both. That’s coming from Rebekah, because that’s what she told Elena in Ordinary People…..but she also told Elena that Elena was only going to learn what she allowed her to learn. Rebekah also told Elena she couldn’t trust anyone in her family.

It’s also a very good possibility that  Esther is both and that she was in the coffin and never daggered. But I still come back to the fact that Elijah, Klaus & Rebekah BURIED her body. And judging from the fact Rebekah was so upset when Elena revealed that the cave wall was filled with images of Klaus the Hybrid killing Esther the Original Witch and that Rebekah was so convinced this was the truth she was willing to betray her brother in the Homecoming episode. Also, why wasn’t Rebekah curious as to what was in the sealed coffin Klaus was carting around. We know those two were close, we know they talked. If it was their mother, and Rebekah knew it, wouldn’t the hot-tempered Rebekah have insisted they find a way to unseal it so they could bring her mother back?

As to Stefan: I have no idea why he is acting the way he is acting other than the fact he can’t get over a simple kiss. All I can think of is that he needs to grow up. Elena was not his girlfriend at the time, Stefan left her in Damon’s care, he made the decision of his own free will to seek revenge, and now he’s having to deal with the consequences of his decision…and he’s not dealing with it well.

He really is looking like Jack from “Titanic” here…cute..

I don’t get this,..isn’t anyone confused by the fact that it was Esther who came out of the coffin?,…how is that even possible?? Rebekah already clarified that her mother couldn’t turn because she is a witch!,..hence, even if klaus had not killed her, she could not have been alive? Any comments on that?

I am really frustrated by the Damon/Elena drama.  Either have her with Stephen and get over it.  Or let us and Damon and Elena explore their relationship.  I have been reading sneak peaks and I so dissapointed in the Damon naked with someone else tease.  He has been celebate for how long and now that him and Elena are closer than ever, he screws up.  Come on.  I just started watching Vampire Diaries this past summer, when my daughter suggested that I would love it.  So I watched Season 1 and was hooked.  Now  I am getting pissed.
