Stefan’s behavior to Elena is meant to show that he still loves her because he wouldn’t kill her completely, just turn her into a vampire against her will in the most traumatic way possible.

We’re actually meant to feel sorry for him because he’s given up and decided that he and Elena are over because of all the evil things he’s done, which is what any rational woman would do.

But Elena is still steadfastly standing by her man and refusing to give up hope even after the appalling way he has treated her, her family and friends and random strangers.

Elena really is the worst role model for girls ever.

BTW Klaus definitely is a manipulative sociopath and actually he needs some Katherine like girl who can´t be scared by his age and ruthlessness. On the other hand I can´t quite imagine how Klaus´s threat potential can be topped. I mean firstly Damon was the bad news, then came Katherine and then Klaus. I thought Mikael would be the one worse than Klaus but he successfully defended the position of the scariest monster in town (whereas I must say that Stefan´s move was beyond anything one could excuse. If I were Elena I would tell him to take his vamped a.. and never ever come close again) ;)

If Klaus gets a love interest it needs to be through the awakening of the Original Petrova, whom I believe was the one person he did love 1,000 years ago.  It makes no sense to put Klaus, an ancient 1000 year old Original vampire, with a 17 year old modern day high school student who was just recently turned into a vampire.  I am truly hoping for something more in depth than that for his character. 

I loved this episode. So many emotions…Caroline and Klaus? I don’t want to ship them because..come on. Elena and “Serial Killer” Salvatores is one thing…they mean well most of the time/do good..but Klaus is a wackadoodle. Damn Candice Accola for having chemistry with everyone!

Hi Iansfan, sorry I don’t know what you mean at the beginning of your comment.  I just wish Stefan and Damon would get on the same page with each other.  What I mean is…fight/work together.   It’s like the roles are reversed.  Damon is now in love and Stefan is now the tough guy fighting for Mystic Falls. 

Hi Iansfan, I agree and disagree.  LOL    I have  never found Stefan’s character black and white.   Don’t want to preach but, acting is a pretty hard job whether your being the protective/ love interest or the psycho with little to no feelings.  I’ve seen enough TV/movies with talentless actors. LOL      That’s why for me all these actors are incredibly talented and know  there business.  What I mean is…when I’m watching a show and can feel that I  like or dislike a character (but love the actor)…damn they must know what there doing.  I have been a fan of Paul since the OC…btw…he totally pulled that character off too.  I didn’t like Donny (the character her played) LOL  That’s why when I compliment/complain/bitch  about anyone on the show…they are obviously a talented actor and know there stuff.

Doesn’t anyone sometimes feels that the writers regret not having cast Candice as Elena? Caroline is truly the only well developed character on the show. Her story lines have real depth (and are usually Elena-free!! Big plus). It’s obvious they like Candice a lot.
Not that I mind, because I like Candice and I adore Caroline!

Love the new bad ass Stefan, finally I can start enjoying him.

I agree 100% with everything you said except for the part about Bonnie.  Everyone keeps comdemning Elena for taking Jeremy’s free will away and making him leave town. But when I watched that scene in Ep310, it looked like Jeremy knew what was about to happen when Damon walked into the room and sat down, and he did not try to stop them. Bonnie drives me crazy with her judgy (shout out Damon!) ways. Yet, when it suits her purposes, she’s just as bad (i.e. in season 2 when she blocked Alaric from leaving the house and helping in their attempt to stop Klaus…she took away his choice).

I want to see this Klaus and Caroline thing play out too! :) It’s a May-December romance to the thousandth power. People think Caroline’s too young, too provincial for someone as sophisticated, experienced, and refined as Klaus, but maybe youth and someone untried is exactly what Klaus likes about Caroline. He wants to show her the beauty, the wonder, the splendor life on their scale has to offer. It’s beautiful and terrifying.

Hi wednesday75, cough cough…our Stefan.  LOL  Honestly, since day 1 I have never thought that Stefan was boring.  He was an incredibly caring/devoted and protective boyfriend…all the things a gal would want.  As for Klaus, I was hoping that he would stay the villain with no time for love.  Then since obviously we kind of have no choice I thought about it and as much as I’m loving the whole vampire Barbie.  I think that two people who love to show off as much as they do would be okay with each other.  Mind you I’m talking about Season 1 Caroline who loved to be the center of attention.  Klaus I am hoping will regain his senses and go back to being a crazed psycho and forget all this love thing.  But, for now I’d take him and Caroline together…I guess.  As for Elijah, I cannot wait until our sweet gentleman awakes…and kicks Klaus’ ass. LOL

I hated this episode. I thought it was the worst this season. It was full of WTF moments and not in a good way. Klaus/Caroline is just disturbing (brother/sister, romantic, however you want to look at it). Damon is my favorite and I wanted to slap him, he should have been more upset about the Stefan/Elena death thing. I love that Elena is letting go and moving on. I loved Matt in this episode and honestly I kind of shipped Matt/Elena. I thought the party/funeral thing was weird but whatever lol. I am not really liking Meredith. Klaus is turning into a giant pansy, Tyler is still a loyal dog (though I thought it was sweet that he tried to fight against Klaus for Caroline).

Nothing happened that I needed to see, nothing really changed except maybe Elena letting go of the past. I could have skipped this episode and wouldn’t know the difference.

What saved this episode by a thread were some funny lines.

You thought of Phantom of the Opera in the Klaus/Caroline scene too?! I thought I was the only one. He definitely reminds me of the evil-but-tortured-misunderstood-and-in-love opera sewer lurker ;)

what’s with the “psycho” thing about meredith? and the medical examiner? OMG. don’t tell me meredith killed his ex-boyfriend? if meredith is a vampire hunter— oh ow… you better watch your back damon. i smell something fishy… and i think caroline’s dad might help tyler with the bond/siring/compulsion thing.. by the way great episode. liked the way how elena delivered the “how could you” line to stefan.

Thanks for trying to help clear things up for me. Well the first reason makes a lot of sense, but the second still has a lot of holes in it. I don’t know. I think this show makes us all over think things and tries to drive us all crazy till the next week! LOL! The whole gang knows about his sire bond to Klaus, that’s why Caroline broke up with him in the first place. Matt called Klaus out for what he had Tyler do to Caroline because when he showed up at her house he told him “you made him did this to her because Tyler would never have done something like this.” Our boy Matt isn’t dumb. I’m not sure what Caroline and the sheriff believe at the moment. Like I stated above, Klaus pretty much admitted to Caroline that he had Tyler bite her on purpose and that she was collateral damage and it wasn’t personal.

I’d like to think Caroline knows Tyler would never hurt her on purpose. She knows the kind of hold that Klaus has over Tyler and that he would never willingly hurt her especially after he told her he loved her and
didn’t want to give her up. I don’t think he really intentionally 
meant to bite her. We’ll  have to see how things unfold from here. Since we saw from the previews, we now know that’s it’s going to be Caroline’s dad that will help Tyler. Hopefully he can help the poor boy break the hold Klaus has over him. Because if he can handle not being compelled without drinking vervain, anything is possible!

Yeah because if she hates him, there will be no chance of redemption or forgiveness (but obviously, Elena will forgive him at some point, otherwise the love triangle would be over and Damon has done a lot worse things to her loved ones and it wasn’t to punish/protect Elena, although Stefan done it in the wrong way. Imo, if Stefan was willing to turn her, not KILL her as a human shows that he doesn’t want Elena to die and obviously he was never going to crash the car – I don’t know but I wasn’t even shocked or frightened for Elena’s safety because I knew it wasn’t going to happen – Stefan clearly loves her so much that he can let her go since he is pretty unstable but not too far gone. It’s Stefan’s way of punishing himself for doing bad deeds under Klaus’ wing. Stefan doesn’t believe he is worthy for Elena atm, I believe he is (all the bad stuff he did was to save his brother, who keeps chasing after Elena) and they deserve each other.

Plus, it will cause Elena to be even more confused with her feelings and lead to Delena. I loved how she didn’t kiss Damon or allow him to kiss her. Good on you!

I like Klaus and Tyler but Forwood ftw. However, Delena and Klaroline are not much different from each other tbh. That’s if Klaus changes for love, but I hope he doesn’t. I think Damon’s love for Elena makes him boring but when he is interacting with ANY other character, whether it is Stefan (I love their bond, Stefan and Damon’s comments to each other are hilarious and witty, especially now that Stefan is a BA, see what I mean about Elena, she makes them both dull and love-sick; the worst thing people say about Stefan is that he is a “dick” but Damon is one too and he has so many fans), Alaric (I love the Bromance!) and Sheriff Forbes (I missed their interactions, the flirty-friendly banter – I’d ship Lizman any day of the week over Delena). People are not fans of Bamon and I can understand but they have a love-hate chemistry, ever since 2×18 I liked them but then Damon has to spoil it by being head over heels for Elena “I’ll always choose you”. Well, Damon she made it clear that “It’s always going to be Stefan” and if he wasn’t such a good brother, Damon would be dead, resulting in no Delena; yet he subtlety and sometimes outrageously pursues her, even though she is going through so much. Let the girl be single for a while, otherwise he’ll be a rebound. There probably wouldn’t be a Delena kiss (willingly from Elena) but I understand that this is a love triangle and that she does love Damon, so it’s good she’s not using him as a rebound but I don’t ever believe for one second, that Elena will stop loving Stefan or vice versa. However, Elena did grow to love Damon, but I don’t feel their epic love. Damon seems so desperate when it comes to Elena/Katherine and it doesn’t reflect well on his character since he’s so BA and funny with ANY character on this show apart from Elena. Elena seems like a love-sick girl lusting after an interesting, forbidden older guy (I know Stefan is older but TECHNICALLY, they are the same age and their love was pure and sweet, Delena doesn’t come across like that but nonetheless I don’t dislike them but as romantic couple, it’s not going to achieve much since Damon has already become ’good’ as much as he can without being in a relationship with her so what more could it achieve? Make Elena into Katherine 2.0, what’s the point of that? And if Damon loses his ‘edge’ when he is involved with Elena, that will ruin his character and if Elena becomes BA like Katherine, that will ruin the character that she is but the writers could make it work and I’d rather have that than Damon becoming one-dimensional since Elena could do with some spunk (she has her moments sometimes and it’s her caring, loving, vulnerable moments that I love about her and so do Stefan, Damon and her friends and family – RIP).

Personally, when Delena officially happens, it’s going to make me love, want and crave for Stelena even more than now. The forbidden aspect will be gone, what’s left after that? No more tension etc. except that Elena’s friends and probably Stefan wouldn’t approve and/or be happy due to many reasons which are understandable but as always they will overcome these issues and accept Elena because they love her and want her to be happy. Probably, not Bonnie though but she’ll get over it sooner or later like she did with Jeremy being compelled and tolerate/deal with it. 

If Delena is going to happen, Klaroline probably will but I still ship Forwood. Poor Tyler, if Klaus’ love interest is Caroline. At least Klaus isn’t going after Elena but whatever this thing with Caroline is or with whoever the love interest is that Klaus doesn’t become a love-sick puppy. I don’t think he will since he will always put himself before anyone and that is why he can truly never be ‘good’. It’s good to have a villain that stays that way. I’m proud of Stefan, even at the expense of Stelena and he was right about what he said and in her own way, Elena is trying to prove him wrong by not kissing Damon/allowing him to kiss her (same thing at the end of the day) but we all know she is in denial. Stefan, deep down knows that Elena has feelings for Damon but he remembered after Klaus gave back his freedom, the jealous looks when Damon flirted with Elena back when he was compelled and the way she treated him like crap, when he was mean to her (although it was understandable but it took her this long to figure out that he is trying to make Elena hate him but I’m not she realises for how long since Stefan only did that and said cruel remarks without meaning them to push Elena away to protect her & himself to a certain extent from betrayal and it worked which means that he had lost her. It was a test and Elena failed it since she was falling for Damon even deeper than before e.g. jealous looks etc. and retaliated back)

I so much agree with your thoughts about Stefan’s feelings for Elena. But the last episode made me think that there is a chance that the love triangle might not happen again. It seemed kind of possible that the triangles are shifting. The Elena-Matt szenes gave me the idea that maybe there are new triangles? Like Elena-Damon-Matt and Caroline-Tyler-Klaus?? I still have hope Elena and Stefan will get back together though. Klaus said “Stefan’s kind of love never dies” As much as I love Damon I love this true love survives all thought. I hope Elena can forgive Stefan once she understands why he did this to her.
And  – not a popular opininon I know – I would love to see Damon and Katherine together. Those two would be an explosive mix. This guy loved her for more than a century and she was a bitch to him but maybe she had a good reason and maybe she loves him but wants him to hate her to protect him from something? She was running from Klaus for 500 years and now she asked Stefan to stop Damon from killing Klaus to save Damon’s life. So she must have strong feelings for Damon to give up the one chance of Klaus being killed.
