“The time has come, the walrus said, to speak of many things … of ships, and shoes, and sealing wax … of cabbages, and kings.”

Indeed, it has all come down to this: Episode 22 — Founder’s Day (the season finale). And what a pleasure it is to say season instead of series finale. I think all of us would have to admit to a little trepidation back in September 2009, and even prior to that, before the pilot aired. Speaking strictly for myself, who could have predicted that The Vampire Diaries, a series based on a set of 20 year old teen novels at that, would become my only “must see” new series. That’s a pretty big admission for someone approaching the end of her sixth decade.

To the crew — a standing ovation to you all. You guys and gals have exceeded all expectations, doing extraordinary work within the limits of budget and time constraints to produce feature film quality every episode.

To the cast — bravo. You all have such great chemistry and each bring something of your own to the ensemble that breathes vibrant life into the words you are given to say.

But I have to say this, most of all, I want to include Red and Vee in handing out the praise for giving all of us a wonderful place to gather … letting us share our opinions, keeping us all on top of the latest news, and just being all around great hosts. It would not have been half as much joy to me without you! Take a well deserved bow!

With that, it’s time to sit back, relax (as much as I can at this point), and wait for this evening’s revels.

… And hope we don’t completely crush the site into oblivion!!!!! ;)
