I think part of the whole Delena-shipping is because it hasn’t happened yet. It would be awful if there was no build-up don’t you think?
Caroline and Tyler 100%. There’s just no chemistry between Matt and Caroline, and her and Tyler’s relationship is just more electric, I love it..!
Love Rose because she’s bringing out Damon’s good side, I mean, we all knew he had one, just it was hidden, maybe Elena will see how he can be and start to build on their tentative frenemy thing they’ve got going on.

I think Damon’s relationship with Elena last season has allowed him to become “special friends” with Rose this season. It would be funny to see how he would’ve been with Rose at this point last season. He didn’t need special friends because he could pretty much have sexy times whenever he wanted them and then be rid of them whenever he was fed up. I’m sure he’d have staked Rose ages ago if it was season 1 Damon. He likes company now, which is kind of hilarious when you think about how he used to be.
Of course opening yourself up to the good means you’re open to the bad as well.
Actually when you think about it, old Damon probably would’ve had Caroline, Tyler done away with by now, meaning no wolf problems, & no infected Rose problems. He was brutal, but efficient.

To be honest I have mixed feelings about Damon. I miss the season 1 Damon and maybe that’s why I love badass Elijah. (At least until the last episode when he showed his not that bad either.)
But then I also like to watch the sparks between D and E.

TVD is like a big cobweb of relationships. LOL.

I don’t think Jules is working with someone far greater, just another member of the pack. She is just calling in reinforcements because of the vampire situation in Mystic Falls. Werewolves run in Packs, which means Mason is gone so they will probably want Tyler to join their pack. There is no way this is going to be a good thing for Damon, Stefan or Caroline. Actually, Katherine too since she thinks she has to stay in the tomb. We already see how bad this is going to be for Rose.  (Quote)

GeorgiaPeach, Agreed. You brought up and excellent point. I forgot about Katherine. Poor Katherine, the tomb door is open which means the wolves can just walk in. If there is more then just one Katherine would have a tough time fighting them off.

@ Mac- I agree, definitely brutal and efficient….since the mistake he made in The Return, he’s been trying really hard to stay on Elena’s good side, also he’s been slowly regaining the bond he had with Stefan. Plus he’s made friends with Sheriff Forbes and Alaric….I like this Damon, but because he wants to stay on Elena’s good side, his hands are a little tied in what he can and can’t do. He’s willing to let Caroline keep an eye on the Tyler situation instead of just killing Tyler. Jules actually got to leave the bar and he listened to Alaric about going home. That he feels guilty about Rose being bit is a no brainer. That he’s even willing to tell Jules that he’ll let her live in the promo if she tells him how to cure a werewolf bite is another example…..I have to admit, part of me misses my old Damon, but in the whole scheme of things, it’s kind of interesting he’s learning to give a little, too.

Even if there are a lot of delena fans, that doesn’t mean the writers have to make it happen. That could ruin the storyline and they know where they are going with the plot.Yes,it would be interesting to see delena happen, but it takes time.We know that Damon loves elena, but elena never really showed feelings for him besides just “caring”.

I think Damon needs his own show. Let the Vampire Diaries continue on without him, and let Elena and Stefan have their epic love story. That way the Damon fans would have their own show and Damon would not always get the short end of the stick. I, also, feel like the writers, producers and all the powers that be, are throwing the character of Damon under the bus. The vampire that came to town in season one never would have let the lone werewolf attack Rose while he is standing there with a sword in his hands. What happened to all the powers Damon possessed in season one? How far did Rose push Damon to get him out of the way of the werewolf attack? It seemed like way too much time went by while the wolf was biting Rose before Damon stabbed it. I understand they needed a werewolf bite for the next episode, but it would have made more sense if the writers had a minimum of two wolves, maybe three. That scenario with Damon needing to take on more wolves would have made sense if one of the wolves got to Rose.

I guess it is true that even if over 80% of the viewing audience wants Damon and Elena to happen, the writers absolutely do not have to do it. Although, I an not sure how this would ruin the storyline. As of yet there is no triangle for Damon, Elena and Stefan, nor do I see one happening anytime soon. Especially after what they said on the EW podcast. The writers will never compromise Stefan and they are excited about the Elena/Stefan love story. Hmmmm…. what happened to this season will explore the Damon/Elena romantic relationship. I understand Kevin wanting the rapid heartbeat, the sweaty palms, etc…etc.., this must mean something may happen in season three or four. Okay…. fine… As long as Ian Somerhalder, as Damon Salvatore, is on the Vampire Diaries, I will watch it. However, at this point I still think Damon needs his own show and would be the first to cast my vote for it. The writers on TVD have minimized the character of Damon way too much. I’m just sayin…….

Maybe they are not throwing him under the bus but definitely they made a bet on his character which proved to be quite difficult to follow, at least for now. I like the starting point, having Damon back to his humanity and the inner battle he has to face. What I am not convinced that much of is how this whole struggle has been developped.
I would have imagined, being Season 1 Damon such an impulsive, dark-sided but mockering and ironical character, to have him react over the lines to all this. I mean, I would have seen him change his moods and attitudes suddenly from aggressive to tender, maybe with some funny expression on the face like” Wait, what the hell am I doing this? Am I compelled or what?”. I would have seen him getting drunk to forget how disgustingly good-hearted he had been during the day, I do not know, something more Damon-like…
His journey, so far, has turned him into a strong, charming but sad guy, which is understandable but also disappointing, from some point of view.
Look at Elijah: he can rip a heart out of you by looking at you with that little teasing spark in his eyes, and that badass half smile. Damon was like that, now he has somehow lost it and it is frankly a pity.
Some character’s defining details can be kept even during the journey, I think. Rose is an over 500 years old vampire and is all emotions, tears and fears, which probably comes out from what she was as a human, so why leaving such a big aspect of Damon’s personality aside? Only my point of view, obviously…

@Georgia Peach – I couldn’t agree more with everything you put in your comment. Just about writers and their excitement about “epic love story”, I remember one interview with Julie Plec, where she said that Elena and Stefan’s epic love story is true and only love story which they will explore and that Damon is a jerk, who will just be an extra element of the story. Meaning, he will be main teaser of the show in so called love triangle story – up to date non-existing in the show. It was pretty much laud and clear statement about every Damon and Elena’s romantic or love moments of the story and show – i.e. no hope for it. As I stated on some discussion forum before, history repeating itself is what we have so far, with Stefan having all love and admiration, without any or maybe just a poor hints of better tomorrow for Damon. And only Rose said to him “I like you” and she was honest and so sweet to Damon for being himself. She is also pretty much aware of his good heart and personal qualities from the moment she met him. And more important she said it all out loud. Stefan obssesed Elena will probably never be able for that! And the idea about Damon own show is brilliant, you can caunt on my vote too!

Hmm..not a bad idea GA Peach…but I have to ask, since TVD doesn’t want to use Alaric, can we take him, too? Also, maybe we can have Rose as well, or better yet Isobel…LOL!

I’m one of those that don’t understand the appeal of Delena at all…at all. I just don’t get it. I’ve read articles, I’ve listened to people explain it to me, I’m still not drawn in. I just don’t connect with the idea of Damon & Elena. I’m one of those that finds it just…forced. I don’t want Delena to happen simply because I just don’t like the idea. That’s my opinion. And if it does happen, I wouldn’t want it to be the main focus of the show, because then I would probably lose interest in it and eventually stop watching. I’m still sometimes flabbergasted that people want it to happen….it just seems to strange to me.

With that said, you Delena fans clearly don’t understand that you’re so close to getting what you want. I’ve realized lately that Stefan’s character is being neglected…sure, Stelena gets their moments, but Stefan’s growth as a character? Meh. The screen time and writing is going to Damon. That’s their focus, because they want him likable enough that Delena is realistic. I think that’s actually a huge mistake. But cheer up, DE fans :) You’re time is coming soon!

I really love Caroline. I’m not necessarily pro-Forwood or pro-Catt, but I like both relationships. I guess I’ll just have to see what goes down. And I’m really excited to see more of Jules! Even though she’s a threat to our beloved characters, she looks awesome! I think the vamps need another character in town (now that Kat is out of the way) to shake things up and make them realize that they’re not invincible. And since Elijah is playing nice, why not utilize Jules? I think the next episode is going to be great! I just feel bad for Rose. She takes a werewolf bite for Damon, and now she is going to suffer a long, drawn-out death for it? So sad. I don’t understand the hatred against her (then again, I think I do. I think it has a lot to do with jealousy. But honestly, can you blame the girl for being friends with Damon?)

  • Guest

Pleaseeee… Bonnie has to realize that SOMEONE was able to hocus-pocus Stefan out of the tomb!! Can’t she put 2 + 2 together and figure it’s Luke??

  • Lmartin

Well first of all, if there is a way to cure a wolf bite, there goes all reasons for fearing werewolves. They need some power over the stronger and faster vampires. I’m okay with Rose leaving the show, she’s not a very exciting character and she seems pretty weak and pathetic considering she’s one of the oldest vampires on the show.

Also, I really hope this doesn’t send Damon on an emotional roller coaster. We have had enough of that this season. I would love to see Elena and Damon together, but they need to save something for future seasons. I think it would be a betrayal to Elena’s character for them to get together now, not to mention what it would do to the brother’s relationship. I’m excited to see some shirtless Salvatore brothers though; it has definitely been too long.

Caroline and Tyler have me more excited for future episodes than anything right now. I love Matt but what Tyler can share for her and provide for her is more of what she needs. I think it’s time for some vampire/werewolf passion. Plus, it will be intense when Tyler finds out what else resides in Mystic Falls.

I don’t think the writers are trying to please or piss off either Stelena or Delena fans. I think they are writing an interesting show with strong characters and interesting plot twists. If everyone just was together and happy, there would be no show. We should just stay tuned and see where it goes :)

    I love TVD!!

i don’t mind if Rose dies, i want more DELENA though!!!!
    wish it was stefan/katherine
