Keck’s Exclusives is reporting that Sterling Sulieman (All My Children and soon to be seen on 24) will be be playing a vampire who used to be a Union soldier in an upcoming episode of the Vampire Diaries. It seems his appearance will be linked to Katherine’s tomb, so we’ll be interested to see how that develops. The actor tweeted to say that he’s had his vampire eyes fitted and is heading off to Atlanta on Monday. Welcome to the Vampire Diaries family, Mr. Sulieman. We hope you have a blast.
There’s a curious tidbit posted up on Megabuzz that comes up in relation to Katherine’s reappearance on the show, though isn’t actually about Katherine herself (highlight/mouseover to view the spoiler):

MICKEY: Yep, and much sooner than you think! Plus: Since this is a show about the walking dead, keep your eyes peeled for another assumed-dead lady to order a very rare filet at the Mystic Falls Grill very soon.
