First up, thanks to the Salvatore Council Podcast (you should listen!) for the heads up on Steven R. McQueen’s interview with Galway Bay FM’s Alan Murphy. He talks about choosing Vampire Diaries over Melrose Place (smart choice!), Jeremy’s journey throughout the series, how the cast gets along, pranks on the Vampire Diaries set, how passionate vampire genre fans are, and more.

Thanks to the folks at the Salvatore Bros. Tumblr for pointing out these scans of Nina Dobrev in the January 2011 issue of InStyle magazine. We’re not sure where the scans originally popped up, only that they’re watermarked with (what looks to be) Babinskiscan, so much thanks to them!

TV Guide‘s Robyn Ross has a brief summation of what fans of the Vampire Diaries book series can expect to see and not see as the TV series progresses, courtesy of her set visit and chat with Julie Plec:

“The power of a journal is when you’re lost and alone and feel like you have no one to talk to,” she says. “What we have fun with is how to integrate the concept of journals — from Alaric typing in his computer or the old John Gilbert journals that set off the mythology of the vampire device. And we still haven’t laid our hands on a Lockwood journal.”

FanBolt has posted a summary of their Vampire Diaries set visit last week along with a few cast photos and soundbites from Steven R. McQueen, Katerina Graham, Candice Accola, Matt Davis, Sara Canning, Ian Somerhalder, and Julie Plec.

And now a round-up of end-of-year Vampire Diaries nods:

IGN gives Vampire Diaries “Best Twist” in their Best of 2010 poll, calling the final moment of Founder’s Day, “shocking, fun, gory and cool all at once, and a great cliffhanger to leave the show on.”

BuddyTV is feeling the Vampire Diaries love in their Love Is All Around: Best TV Relationships of 2010, bestowing our show with “Best Relationship Involving Too Many People: Stefan and Elena and Damon and Katherine in The Vampire Diaries.” And the ladies of Vampire Diaries made a strong showing in their TV’s 100 Sexiest Women of 2010 list: Katerina Graham comes in at #83, Nina Dobrev at #31, and Candice Accola at #19.

E!Online wants to know readers’ pick for Best TV Show of 2010. Round 1 is up for voting – The Office or…Vampire Diaries? VOTE!
