We’ve got a post filled with “Children of the Damned” (episode 13 of the Vampire Diaries) goodies for you, starting with the synopsis. It’s another episode of lush-looking flashbacks where we’ll be meeting a bunch of new characters, including Papa Salvatore.
MORE SECRETS OF THE SALVATORE FAMILY HISTORY ARE REVEALED
In flashbacks, Stefan and Damon recall the long-ago actions taken by townspeople including their father, Giuseppe Salvatore, and Pearl, leading to the devastating events that caused the rift in their relationship. In the present, Bonnie’s date with Ben takes a frightening turn. Elena helps Stefan as he and Damon race to find the missing journal that belonged to Elena’s ancestor. Stefan learns the reason behind Alaric’s interest in both the journal and the town’s history. Damon discovers that an old acquaintance has returned to town with an agenda he understands.
In casting news, Fancast has reported that Joe Knezevich (Drop Dead Diva, The Librarian 3) has been cast in the role of Elena and Jeremy’s author/inventor ancestor, Johnathan Gilbert. Ric Reitz (Dawson’s Creek, Surface) is listed on IMDB as playing Barnette Lockwood, though under “Unpleasantville”, given that the name and the fact there’s even a snazzy picture in his IMDB profile that looks like it could be from an 1864 flashback, it looks more like he could be one of Tyler’s ancestors appearing in “Children of the Damned”. We’ll have to wait and see. Likewise, it also looks like Caroline’s dad is making an appearance in “Unpleasantville” (probably – IMDB isn’t always accurate), with Phillip DeVona (One Tree Hill, Army Wives) set to play Mr. Forbes.
Finally, feast your eyes on Damon and Stefan with Papa Salvatore, courtesy of @LilMissX. We may have lost Vee to the costume pr0n for a few hours. ;)
