    Thanks I’ll check it out!

Here is the problem with revisiting the sun and moon curse. When Esther bond Klaus’ werewolf side she used a comet the only appears every 145 years, She used the moonstone, the blood of the doppelganger to create the curse. There is no doppelganger unless they stupidly saved some of Elena’s blood that Klaus drained. There is no comet for another 144 years.

So, what curse? The curse of the doppelganger? That hasn’t been explored and this is possibly how they plan to undo the mess they created in E22. An infrequent celestial event would have to occur to even begin the spell and also, they would definitely need Esther’s grimoire. Where is it? I can’t see Klaus turning that over. That spell would have to be very specific and I doubt can be easily done.

Here is another issue I have. Tatia had a child when she met Klaus and Elijah. Tatia had to have another child after the curse. Otherwise, it makes no sense that the doppelganger blood line continued through until Elena, it would have ended with Tatia. What happened to Tatia? Is she living somewhere happily with Elijah as a vampire now?

There are a million and one questions that are unanswered. Now we use the same format, revisiting seasons 1 and 2 to create season 4. I don’t get that line of thinking.

  • ihatepeople

Yeah I agree. I’d be pissed if I were an SE fan too. They tarnished the character by not letting him have a mind of his own and making her choice more important than her life. No one does that. I wouldn’t be happy if someone did that to my character as an actor.

  • from.beginning.to.end

K, this has been bugging me. Were they not insinuating there was some kind of importance to that necklace? Once upon a time? In the first half of S3? Rebekah said she needed it, then Katherine stole it, then in Ghost Town they tried to destroy it but it didn’t work, then Elena somehow got it back, gave it to Rebekah who later threw it in the cave. I get that it was Esther’s but it’s not what resurrected her and she didn’t care about it at all when she was around. Now she’s supposedly gone for good. So…in the end it served no real purpose except for breaking up Jer and Bonnie by making Jeremy’s kissable…

  • from.beginning.to.end

Jeremy’s ghost ex* kissable I meant haha.

  • a_softsong

Yes. I agree. Maybe she will allow the preacher to pray for her before she drains him dry. LOL

  • ihatepeople

Too funny! Other possibility is Steffie boy tells her to stay put but she doesn’t listen as usual. Same outcome with killing the preacher. I mean they flat out said he doesn’t make it past the first ep. What other purose is he there for right?

  • a_softsong

That was good. I wonder if Will Smith wrote the lyrics?

  • Lexa

the site I read this about the pastor and Connor is

  • a_softsong

You got it. It meant nothing. In the episode the birthday, Bonnie’s dream it was wrapped around Klaus’ hand in the coffin but, in the end it was just fluff. Nothing.

  • a_softsong

He is a relative or perhaps father of the girl that is going to have a recurring role. He is nobody. Just a time consumer taking away from the regulars on the show.

  • a_softsong

Thank, Lexa. I found it. I wanted to read the whole article. It was “interesting”. LOL

  • a_softsong

Yes, they are determined to make you believe Stefan and Elena’s is an epic love affair/romance. And you must also, believe that children are plucked for a cabbage patch and delivered by storks. Houses are built from gingerbread and candy canes. Fairy-tales and butterflies is the spin. My throat is bleeding raw from the writers trying to shove the “epic” of theme Stelena down.

  • a_softsong

Not only did they tarnish his character. He is now looked upon as the worlds worst boyfriend. He is a laughing stock. That was not fair either. He is a very good actor and that script let him know without any doubt that he just has a job like all of the rest of us. He never would have done that if he’d had any control.

  • a_softsong

You stated that you don’t watch much tv however, Once Upon A Time and Teen Wolf are really good. I think you’d enjoy them. The season Finale of Once Upon A Time was awesome in that it ended season 1 and began season 2 answering the important questions and posing new questions for season 2. I really enjoyed it. It has flow.

Julie said in an interview she is trying to keep it “real” and human in the daily lives of the young people in Mystic Falls. The Vampire Diaries is a supernatural show. There is no keeping it “real” or “human”, otherwise the show would be called “The Diaries” and tell the trials & tribulations of the youth of Mystic Falls. I’m watching The Vampire Diaries for the vampires. I want my vampires to be vampires and I want the mythology to stay coherent. For a supernatural show about vampires, I don’t think that is too much to ask for.

    Established mythology:
    - The older the vampire = the faster and stronger they are.
    - Vampires acquire supernatural abilities and powers with age.

The Originals are the very first vampires and are over 1.000 years old. Klaus, by birthright through his biological father, is also a werewolf, which makes him a “pure” vampire/werewolf hybrid. Being the first vampires means the Originals are faster and stronger than any other vampires. They are the makers of their vampire bloodlines and should possess additional supernatural powers and abilities. Knowing all this I would like to know how Damon and Tyler were able to restrain Klaus (the Original hybrid and first of his kind) by holding his arms and then Stefan was able to penetrate Klaus’s chest in order to deliver the dessication spell. This whole scenario is not keeping it “real” in the already established vampire mythology. For me, the writers should have to explain that one. I watched Katherine, a diluted 500 year old vampire, toss Damon and Stefan around the room and did not break a fingernail or a sweat in the episode “Masquerade”. However, once Klaus received the vampire dessication spell, I wondered why his werewolf side did not kick in. I wanted his fist to come through the coffin while Damon & Stefan were transporting him. I wanted Klaus to come out of that coffin, transform into a wolf and jump through the window, all the while singing “catch me if you can”…(just kidding about the singing). However, that would have been an awesome scene. Instead I got Bonnie doing a ridiculous spell to put Klaus into Tyler’s body. A body swap spell of some kind even though Klaus, who was dessicated (no blood) and Tyler were 100 miles apart. Julie said in an interview that the audience has seen the spell before. No, Julie we have not. The Alaric/Klaus body swap involved a blood transfusion, a witch and a warlock. The Esther/Rebekah body swap involved physical contact between the two of them. Keep in mind Esther is the Original Mommy Witch and one of the most powerful witches ever. Yet, I am to believe that Bonnie, the novice witch who gets nosebleeds, could cast the magical spell with 100 miles between Klaus and Tyler. Seriously? The writers have some explaining to do. Klaus is the strongest of his Original siblings, the writers need to show that.

Julie said Rebekah would be ostracized at high school for her part in Elena dying. Really? Rebekah was protecting her family and trying to take out the threat that could kill them. Alaric, the Original vampire killing machine, that was created by Mommy Original Witch Spirit that was materialized, was linked to Elena’s life.
Of course Rebekah would try to take out the threat. Considering Elena pretended to be her friend and then physically and emotionally stabbed her in the back, Rebekah could care less about Elena and made the right choice to end the threat. Keeping it “real”, Rebekah did not kill Elena. Stefan did that all on his own when he left a conscious and alive Elena trapped and drowning (blurp, blurp) in a submerged vehicle and swam away with Matt Donovan. Julie is going to try and sell that to me as the “epic love” between Stefan and Elena because he honors her free will. Don’t even get me started on how Elena does not honor other people’s free will. I’m not sure why Rebekah, the 1,000 year old Original vampire sister, is attending high school in the first place. During the episode “End of the Affair”, I watched Rebekah having a good time drinking, partying, blood sucking and being very seductive and alluring to Stefan, The Ripper of Monterey. Rebekah has lived 1,000 years and she comes to Mystic Falls and wants to be in high school. Seriously? Is there something in the mist in the area of Mystic Falls? I would think the writers could come up with something better than that for the Original sister. Not only that, being 1,000 years old, why would she care what those high school kids think of her. Please tell me the writers will give me something better than this for Rebekah in Season 4.

Julie said Damon and Stefan will be concentrating on helping Elena during her transition into a vampire and her life as a new vampire. Stefan will be overwhelmed with grief and guilt, but will have Caroline to lean on as a friend. Caroline will be all about ” Rah! Rah! Stefan! Who will Damon have as a friend? Julie said maybe Meredith Fell will be Damon’s new drinking buddy. I sincerely hope the writers put a stake in that scenario immediately. The only thing I have heard interesting about this was from Joseph Morgan. He thinks Elena may be a ruthless vampire. (2 thumbs up for Joseph)

It appears the non existent triangle will continued to be teased. Elena chose Stefan. Elena and Stefan are suppose to be the epic love story. Elena never told Damon she loved him. I heard the same words she uttered to him in the first episode of season two all over again at the end of season three. There was absolutely no progress in establishing a triangle. If the writers were sincere in establishing a triangle between Damon, Elena and Stefan, they would have actually went there in season 3. As a human, Elena would have slept with Damon this past season, especially during the road trip to collect Jeremy. Her last words to Damon would have been “I love you Damon, but I love Stefan too”. Nope, none of that happened. By the writers pen, Damon never had a chance with human Elena. The tease continues on with = Elena may look at Damon differently now that she is a vampire. That kind of tease needs to stop because that is just insulting to the Damon fans and the Delena fans. Truthfully, I don’t think Elena is all the great for Damon and she has certainly not been very nice to him. Elena sent Damon mixed signals through season three and used him while Stefan was away and then once Stefan came back, Elena pushed Damon to the curb and back stabbed him in Dangerous Liaisons. I have not liked her since. Finally, in the episode “Heart of Darkness”, Damon and Elena shared a hot steamy kiss. Rejoice!…things are actually starting to progress! However, by the end of the episode she threw it back in his face. Elena revealed she was on the road trip with Damon because Stefan wanted her to be sure of her feelings. Really? That was it? Once again for Elena, it was all about Stefan. Surely by now Damon’s never ending road to redemption is over, especially since Stefan never had to go on one no matter what atrocities he committed. This is suppose to be a supernatural show about vampires. Vampires are a predatory species and do not need a road to redemption. UGH! Julie has already said neither Salvatore Brother will get a different love interest other than Elena. That makes me sad for Damon. That means Damon gets nothing …. more of nothing … and Stefan will continue to be the apple of Elena’s eye. Stefan and Elena are a given as the “epic couple” on TVD. For me, they
are boring and cheesy, but I know there is a fan base that love them
    together.

I am hoping for more Klaus and Caroline interaction. At some
point he will definitely need a hot steam kiss.

Questions for Julie and her writing team:
    1. Will Tatia ever be introduced? Why was her Petrova blood so important in the first place. Who was she exactly?

    2. What about Taita’s child and Katherine’s child? Do they matter at all? Did the fathers matter? Who raised Tatia’s child and Katherine’s child?

    3. How did Esther get in a modern day coffin? Who enchanted and sealed Esther’s coffin for Klaus? At what point did Klaus dig her up? Rebekah said 700 years had gone by since Esther’s death and the siblings had left ancient Mystic Falls.

    4. If Abbey Bennett sealed Mikael in the tomb, how did Klaus and Rebekah know exactly where Mikael was? Esther said Mikael was altered to feed on the dead. When did that happen and who did it?

    5. What about Klaus’s biological father? Will he and his clan be introduced in a flashback?

    6. Will Damon ever get a back story about just him? When Damon couldn’t save Emily from being burned at the stake, will Damon’s journey saving her bloodline be shown or told? He succeeded in honoring his pact with Emily otherwise there would have never been a Grams, Abbey or Bonnie.

    7. What about Mama Salvatore? Did she die in childbirth, or did she just up and leave due to Papa Salvatore’s infidelity?

    8. Did Elijah fall in love with Katherine in 1492? Did Katherine fall in love with Elijah? Kevin said a year ago that the audience would meet Katherine’s true love.

    9. Season three was big into Klaus making his hybrids. Where did all the hybrids go? Will they be back? Klaus was going to kill Elena after draining her doppelganger blood and he was able to get a couple of bags, which means he has a stash. Klaus still wanted a hybrid army after Mikael’s death. Why? I’m guessing that something else must be coming.

    10. What happened to the hoards of witches and warlocks Klaus had collected over the years?

    11. Who is/was Meredith Fell’s supplier for vampire blood? She was already practicing the art of healing with vampire blood when she was introduced on the show.

    12. Why can’t Damon have a different love interest? Why not put Rebekah and Damon together?

    13. Will there be other mystical supernatural beings coming to Mystic Falls? Fairies? Elves? Succubus? Sirens? Fox Demons?

I just hope the writers take the time to develop their stories and their characters. There is no need to rush and not explain things. For the first time as an avid TVD fan, I am apprehensive about the writing of my favorite show. I am hoping for good writing and storytelling for Season four.
    *trying to stay positive*

  • VAMPLOVER1973

Awesome post, GP- the questions you asked are the same questions I’ve been asking myself this summer. Here’s to hoping that some of them will be answered in the coming season. Opened ended questions, with no answers, are never good when your telling a story. Here’s to hoping the writing team gets with the program quick and like I said below, simpler is sometimes much better;)

  • ihatepeople

My husband has the remote glued to his hand most of the time and he is a chronic channel changer. LOL. Actually I have plenty of other TV’s in the house I could use but most of the time I’m running around trying to get caught up on things, reading a book or writing. I do want to watch Matt Davis’ new show when it starts.

  • VAMPLOVER1973

There’s no explaining that just like there’s no explaining how Stefan didn’t have a problem ripping the steel door of the truck of it’s hinges but all of a sudden a cloth seat belt is a problem;)

  • ihatepeople

Hmm odd. You notice that they had to make Matt unconscious because earlier in the season they pointed out that he was a lifeguard one summer. I still don’t get his inability to tear off the door and rip her seatbelt off so she could swim away. It would’ve taken less time than it took her to shake her head and point to save Matt.

  • ihatepeople

Yeah the actors have said before they have little if any say in what happens to their characters. I guess goes to show us in every business the boss always wins. ;)

  • ihatepeople

Yeah it was kind of funny. I actually felt a little embarassed for her because it was definitely out of her realm (rapping I mean). At least she has a good sense of humor.

  • ihatepeople

they made it sound like it was important just like the moon stone and the Gilbert device but in the end nope. As you mentioned if it had been important Esther would’ve wanted it back. I’m guessing it was her talisaman to the real world once she died. Now it means squat.

  • a_softsong

Me too. Daniel Gillies show Saving Hope is really good too.

  • a_softsong

Stefan said he went to JP about leaving Elena in the car and she told him it would be fine. Egos and personalities can make or break a show. It is clear that focus and direction has been lost on TVD. Take a look at all of the writers that it takes to do each season.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vampire_Diaries_(season_4)#Season_4 It would be quite easy to loose direction without a dedicated staff of writers.

  • a_softsong

I guess my first reply was deleted. So, I’ll just say you are correct.

  • a_softsong

You said what I’ve been trying to say with 100 post in just 1. Dead on. Thank You. Maybe if they are smart they will her “US”. Thank you so much.

P.S. Someone also needs to keep up with the props. When Stefan is in the dungeon with Alaric and Klaus comes in that is not one of the stakes made from the Wikery Bridge sign. It is the stake that Damon keeps in the sitting room in a box.

  • Lexa

GP thank you for youre post it is great and you express a lot of the same things I am wondering about or would like to see,I really wish the writers foremost JP would see youre post, take it to heart.

  • a_softsong

I really need to understand the doppelganger thing. Right now it is not making much sense.

Tatia is the progenitor of the Petrova Doppelgänger

Was Tatia from a werewolf bloodline? Tatia was there when the Michaelson’s arrived in ancient Mystic Falls, where there were werewolves.

Tatia has an out of wedlock child. Was this the child affected by the doppelganger curse?

Tatia meets Elijah and Klaus, has an affair with both and refuses to choose.

Esther steps in and “takes” (kidnap?) her.

After Esther casts the doppelganger spell on Tatia, what happens to the child?

Esther turns her families into vampires. It’s Tatia’s blood they drink to finish the transformation.

Does Tatia have another child? Is this the child that the doppelganger bloodline is past down through? If so, who’s the dad?
Was she pregnant with either Klaus’ or Elijah’s child when the spell was cast upon her?

When it comes to Elena these are the questions that nag at me. They nag because it would shed so much light on why that spell is so strong. Nobody can seemly resist Elena because of that spell and everyone especially brothers are seemly drawn to her.

  • Iansfan

Wow, GP, once again you have just brilliantly summed up what was on so many people´s minds.
But I´m afraid that many girls/women in the audience of TVD don´t look at the storyline with your ability to conclude and to watch the show as a whole composition. I think many just watch it to see if Elena chooses Stefan of Damon. To see that there are so many layers in the mythology, in the paralells to experiences of real teenagers, in questions of loyalty, love, friendship and so on, you have to look closer and have a deeper interest in the show than just weekly entertainment. What I want to say is that sometimes I get the impression that the writers paint things in black or white to make it more understandable: Klaus is bad, so he has to die, Rebekkah tried to kill the main heroine, she is bad too (and probably has to die too) . Elena is good so she can´t love Damon because Stefan was her first love. Stefan is good so we can easily forgive all the cruelties, Damon is bad so we can not forgive him. All parents are bad in TVD, all friends are flawless. … and so on.
And according to that theory Elena couldn´t say ” I love you”, Damon doesn´t deserve any happiness, Ric as the pure evil had to die, (as well as Klaus) and Stefan is the hero, because he respected Elena´s last will.
We´ll see if there are more shades in between black and white in the next season. I´m with you, I hope there will be other basics than the ones we already know.

  • Elijahsgirl

I couldn’t agree more with your post. You said exactly what has been on my mind. I, too, am hopeful the writers will pay more attention to the details and the mythology they have already established in earlier seasons. It is so frustrating when something happens that you know SHOULDN’T be able to happen (i.e. Caroline kicking Damon’s ass when Damon attacked her father). Thanks for voicing so perfectly what I believe is on a lot of people’s minds.
