The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesThe November 23rd issue of TV Guide Magazine (out Friday) contains a Vampire Diaries sneak peek (re: SPOILERS) at the show’s return in the New Year, and the clues dropped are sure to make the wait ’til January even more excruciating. (Thanks, Denise!)

Highlight for spoilers (this includes tomorrow night’s episode – so if you don’t wanna know, don’t read!):

  • Julie Plec says “all will be revealed” about a vampire’s return and Alaric’s motivations.
  • Elena and Stefan are “on the outs.”
  • Elena joins Damon for “a little adventure” to visit a witch (Gina Torres). “The big question: Is Elena willingly with Damon or is he controlling her since she’s lost her vamp-blocking vervain?”
  • Bonnie will try using her developing witch-skills to keep the vampire tomb sealed.
  • Matt and Caroline will get closer.
  • What really happened to Vicki will be revealed and it will put all relationships at risk.

Speaking of magazines, you might want to pick up a copy of People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue (Johnny Depp on the cover) when it hits stands this Friday. It has a section devoted to vampires, featuring stars of Twilight, True Blood, and yes, Vampire Diaries.

For anyone who missed E’s “10 Vampires We Love” special on Monday night, you have plenty of opportunity to catch a repeat. Thanks to Zap2It for the schedule and @CW_VampDiaries for the heads up. You can see snippets from the Kevin Williamson and Ian Somerhalder interviews on E’s website. (There’s also an interview with Anne Rice where she utters the words “Vampire Diaries” – I think a piece of my brain actually broke off.) Hopefully the entire segment will surface soon, as it features sound bites from Kevin Williamson, Julie Plec, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev, Zach Roerig, and Kayla Ewell. While Ian was featured at #10 on the “Love” index, the piece was really about the show as a whole, and there were some fun facts (most previously known), including:

  • Kevin Williamson and True Blood executive producer Alan Ball are neighbors.
  • The blood mixture includes raspberries.
  • Julie: “First thing [Kevin] said was call the True Blood guys and find out what they do because their blood is awesome.”
  • Kevin explains that they hired the True Blood special effects team and told them, “whatever you do, keep it different, so we can keep our show special and unique.”
  • Vampire Diaries uses several editors who also work on True Blood.
  • Red contacts that cover the entire eye and fangs are the only “real” effects, the rest being CGI.
  • The sound of a vampire’s bite? Celery. (Ha!)

And finally, an AP video interview with Ian: “Damon just wants his girl back. And he wants his brother back. And he’s going to stop at absolutely nothing to get ‘em.”

I think that elena and damon are the ones involved in the car crash and that she will have life threatening injuries and will have to drink damons bllod to heal. just my guess

  • MayflowerGirl

Good point! Stefan healing Bonnie on the last ep was a good foreshadow as to the healing powers of vampire blood without having to become a vampire. Could be a turning point for Damon/Elena if it happens.

  • erica

why are they even going to bring elena and stefan back together in tomorrow night episode if they are just going to break them up again. like whats the point

As someone who was a bit unhappy with the way Stefan and Elena immediately came together in the pilot (I explain this in my review, posted back in August), but fully aware of the challenges the writers faced due to Twilight’s similarities, I’m all for injecting that frustration into their relationship. I just wish either Stefan or Elena was more definite in their feelings. Them being apart (for now) doesn’t bother me, it’s the constant half-assed waffling on both their parts that’s getting a bit old. One of them needs to reject the other and it needs to be definite – in spite of their feelings. That way it’ll be sweeter when they finally get back together.

The Celery Stalks At Midnight! LOL! And I agree that the waffling needs to stop. Zzzz.

    Oh, I’d love that :)

OMG! These are extremely juicy spoilers :)
I’m really intrigued, especially about the last one. (Theories, anyone?)

  • Frankiie

i totally agree with you Vee. its a little frustrating because im team stefan and elena, but its getting to be a little too smallville for me and i think thats what i hated most about smallville. on the other hand, at least we’ll see the damon/elena relationship grow which interests me (but im still all for stefan & elena!). hey maybe we’ll see a definite breakup like you said when she and damon spend more time together, and then finally we’ll have that oh so sweet reunion.

  • MayflowerGirl

I agree. There’s a point when you want them to be together and happy, even if it’s just for a few episodes, or apart and cool with being apart because it’s for the best at the moment. I understand their reasons for being so waffly, but, if they love each other, then they can’t just walk away! Oh, the drama!

  • Dawn

The waffling isn’t about their feelings for each other its about her insecurities and his worry about her safety. Take all that away and you lose a lot of good storylines. If you’ve read the books you see the same issues come up and you know Damon is eventually going to cause relationship problems. I agree with Frankiie, I think we’ll see a breakup (probably caused by Damon) and then the oh so joyus reunion. That will probably all come as the cliffhanger for the season finale.
