The Vampire Diaries TV SeriesTV Guide talks to Arielle Kebbel, who’s playing Lexi in 162 Candles, this week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries. She provides insight into Lexi and Stefan’s shared past, Lexi’s personality, and her effect on Stefan, Elena, and Damon:

TVGuide.com: Because Lexi is such a strong vampire, does Damon fear her?
Kebbel: Yeah, he fears her and it pisses him off. She knows it and loves it. She’s not scared of him at all and she likes to call him on his B.S. and meet him at his game. She likes to remind him that however evil he thinks he is, I’m still stronger and older and more powerful. I choose not to use my power the way he does because I choose to rise above it, but if push comes to shove, I will use it against him.

I’m excited to meet Lexi. She seems pretty cool. :)

That’s what I initially thought–that Lexi is more of the older sister figure to Stefan rather than another love interest (as stated by him in one of the clips too). Even to Damon in the way cause she’s older and wiser and from what she describes picks on Damon for being younger and less mature. She has power, but she is arrogant about it like Damon. Or as Arielle puts it, “she rises above it”.

And I totally love that they’re bringing powerful female vampires and not necessarily evil powerful female ones. :)

The intimidation thing reminds me of Nightfall when Damon was intimidated by the Stefan’s power after drinking Elena’s blood, and Elena’s power itself.

But I agree with killerchopsticks about powerful female vampires :)
