Love how much extra work Daniel Gillies puts into crafting Elijah’s accent!

He could have gone with his natural accent like the rest of his family – not only would that require the least effort but it would still be exotic enough for the purposes of his character. But he takes it one step further and creates this not-quite American, not-quite European accent for Elijah.

“It’s silly that they just came out of the coffins and they speak modern english.”.Well said,Daniel!I don’t understand why all the Originals should have a british accent.I doubt the only place they’ve ever lived is England.I wish the actors kept their true accent, especially Claire Holt whose accent is ridiculous and definitely not british.
