I would love to see season 1 Damon.  To me he was the perfect vampire.  I love the vampires on this show because they seem more plausible than other vampires on other shows and movies. And Damon to me was perfect, then they made him human, with human logic and actions.  If somebody needed killing, he killed them, and sometimes he liked his blood at 98.6 (S1E8). He learned moderation and became the towns protector. Next the bottom fell out, he went through his metaphorical existential crisis and we lost him (S2E12). 
I want season 1 and part of season 2 Damon back! 

ohhhh Nina, you crack me up! you know you wanna be a bad Damon eating vampire! oooooooooooooohhh! i can’t wait to see what she will be like! I really hope they dont make her lame like Stefan! (please no one kill me) but seriously, i can’t wait.

I think the big question for Elena is not whether she’ll end up with Stefan or Damon, but if she’ll end up staying herself and not becoming Katherine. I guess before Katherine met Klaus for the first time, she was a sweet, good girl. There were a lot of small things that gradually turned Katherine into the (supercool) monster that she is now. Elena has also suffered a lot and has demonstrated a potential to be evil from time to time (backstabbing Rebekah, telling Damon off when he confessed his love for her during the Balll this year). So there is always this latent potential that as ******* Elena will be a lot like Katheirne.

My thoughts on how season 4 will take is that Elana will be with Stephan, but will still be wanting Damon and I hope she ends up with Elijah, she doesn’t know it yet but she also has feeling for Elijah and to be honest the Stephan Damon thing is getting stale. We need new life in the triangle
