There are two new clips from this week’s episode of the Vampire Diaries for you to enjoy. That’s a total of three for “Lost Girls”, (catch up on the first one and the promo trailer here) though they’re keeping those flashbacks to themselves for now. ;)

First clip is of Stefan telling Elena about the facts and myths of vampires.

Second clip is between Damon and Stefan, with them bickering delightfully over the phone.

Am I the only one who’s loving how TV Show’s Elena is becoming more and more like Elena from the books? I just adore the fact that while talking to Stefan, and even though she is aware of what he CAN do, she’s clearly the one in charge.

HAHA! finally we see the REAL ELENA! I was beginning to think that she was just gonna be some naive, quiet girls! (:

  • Tiffany

    Great clips!

  • Amanda

Totally agree with you Angie. Things aren’t looking good for Elena and Stefan.. = (

there’s the HBIC i knew was hiding somewhere!

i flove the stefan/damon bickering. i love that damon’s threats aren’t gonna work with stefan. it’s obvious the ball’s in baby brother’s court. he has the ring after all.

  • http://www.vampire-diaries.net/ Red

This ring scenario does kind of suggest there’s more to the daylight rings than just the lapis lazuli (if that’s even a factor at all and not a book fan shout-out). If it was just lapis he needed, Damon could have gotten hold of some easily enough (or has some spare stashed at the back of his closet). So there’s probably something mystical going on there meaning it’s not such an easy process to get your hands on a daylight-protective ring.

Though if I were Damon, I’d have a backup ring stashed in a convenient location. Like a lose brick in that Salvatore crypt, perhaps.

I’m loving her too! She’s keeping her head in a totally messed up situation, looking at things objectively, thinking about her friend, Caroline, the people that have been killed, instead of allowing herself to be overtaken by the romantic possibilities of vampires. This girl is not to be messed with!

I’m so glad Elena’s bringing up the Caroline situation and shooting Stefan down when he tries to, in his way, rationalize that Caroline didn’t realize it was happening. That entire scenario was messed up on so many levels and Stefan knew it. Thank you, Elena.

  • Jezebel

Umm..I thought Caronline knew that Damon was a vampire? I’m confused. :-/ Hello? The sparkle comment?

  • http://www.vampire-diaries.net/ Red

Well, Damon has been swiss-cheesing her brain, and she didn’t appear to remember being bitten so well when she set Damon free – he had to tell her she liked it. Also, there’s possibly an element of Stefan guessing there, because he knows how his brother generally works.

  • V.O.A.

The one thing I really hope the writers don’t do is have Elena be harder on Stefan for letting the killings happen and lighter on Damon, who actually killed those people.

  • Jennifer

Very cool. It is about time Stefan let Elena know more. Paul is so yummy

  • http://www.vampire-diaries.net/ Vee

Oh, absolutely. I’m actually very curious how the entire Elena/Damon dynamic is going to play out because they’ve spent the past five episodes really setting Damon up as this gleefully malevolent figure. I’m ready to see a new side now.

  • http://www.vampire-diaries.net/ Vee

You actually just brought up something I always wondered about with Damon and Stefan in the book series – well, we knew Stefan had a back-up, but I always wondered what Damon had to ensure he was never caught unawares. I have this mental image of him capping his back teeth in lapis.

  • http://www.vampire-diaries.net/ Red

Ohgod, that reminds me of my painting theory from YEARS ago on NWCD. Where lapis lazuli was used as a blue pigment for paint, and wondering if it would be effective for protecting vampires. I believe it ended with the image of Damon with his finger stuck to some old painting for a day.

  • http://www.vampire-diaries.net/ Vee

Funny, ‘cos the teeth-capping reminded me of my existential “What happens when a human with no teeth gets turned into a vampire?” question.

  • http://www.vampire-diaries.net/ Red

    …you just broke my brain.

  • Caitlin

Those two clips make me so effing stoked for Thursday. I’m already worried about what I’ll do until NEXT Thursday! *girly squeal*

  • Tara

I am sad about the mirror comment–that was such an iconic, poignant book scene for me. But rotfl @ the Sizzler comment.

OMG! You 2 are awesome. To post the best news about TVD is not enough: you 2 have to post the best comments too. LOL
    Keep up the good work!

As Red pointed out last night, it’s nice to see this cold, methodical, clear-headed Damon – and to see him genuinely pissed. Though I’m watching this, and I love how he’s so nonchalant as he SETS THE BODIES OF PEOPLE HE JUST KILLED TOTALLY ON FIRE.

And I’m learning to just let everything go at this point. I think last week’s ep sort put the nail in my expectations coffin, as it were.

  • Tara

Hehehe I’m getting there, too. I just like to complain. ;D

  • http://www.vampire-diaries.net/ Red

We’re old. Old people aren’t happy unless they have something to complain about. ;)
