William Keck over at TV Guide Magazine has some interesting information about the October 29th Halloween episode of the Vampire Diaries, “Haunted”, along with a picture from the episode. It’s worth mentioning here that the October 22nd episode will actually be a repeat showing of “Night of the Comet”, and “Haunted” will be the next new episode aired (thanks, KryptonSite!). The episode information is kind of spoilery, so we’re hiding it under the cut after the picture. Click on the link for the details.

Given that it’s Halloween, we can count on the episode being filled with lots of people dressing up (especially as vampires, according to the article), along with Stefan and Damon having to work together, Elena getting covered in blood, and something that they’re keeping pretty hush hush but sounds like it’s going be something pretty damn epic, judging from what Julie Plec has to say:
“What happens is pretty enormous,” adds coexec producer Julie Plec. “It’s our biggest thing so far. Everything that we’ve been building to with one specific character comes to a head and ultimately changes all the sibling relationships forever.”

Vee and I have been going nuts speculating this one with each other, so why not go crazy with us and share your own theories in the comments?

I find it interesting that they’re re-running Night of the Comet before this episode. That’s all I’m sayin’. Vee(Quote)

The episode of Supernatural on the same night is a repeat, too, so possibly some networky decision or other. Might be to do with the seasons starting early and needing a gap so the Halloween eps were around Halloween. Red(Quote)

I’m guessing that what *ultimately* happened in the book on Halloween will happen on the show on the Halloween episode. Obviously there will be differences (RIP Mr. Tanner), but I think there will be a big reveal…flashbacks, pls?
Btw, I don’t understand Elena’s costume. Shouldn’t she be going as Scarlett O’Hara or something? And shouldn’t Jeremy be dressed as a little white cat? ;) Tara(Quote)

The Halloween episode probably has something to do with the episode Night of the Comet! Angelique(Quote)

I find it funny that the day they are airing Night of The Comet again, is the same day the show premieres for us Latin American fans in the Warner Channel. :D Angie(Quote)

I wonder why they went with Night of the Comet as the repeat and not the pilot. IMHO “Comet” is probably the weakest episode of the show so far.
Anyway, I’m really excited for the Halloween episode! It seems they keep upping the ante with each new installment. :) buffmetube(Quote)

NotC has one (of two) of my favorite scenes from the series so far. And I think Kayla Ewell is a particular highlight. Vee(Quote)

I’m thinking that Vicki is gonna die but unlike the book, I think one of the brothers is gonna turn her into a Vampire.
It certainly would be an enormous event. It would give everyone on the show more to do and more story lines to work with. The possibilites on this one are pretty much endless. Besides they really need to give Matt more to do. Plus killing off Vicki or turning her into a Vamp, would probably make Jeremy and Tyler more interesting and a little less one dimentional. i totally agree with you Shannon, they should definitely give more time to Matt’s character since he has a big part in the books, but it is still the beginning i’m sure they have more of an arc in the story for Matt, although he’s still very interesting enough and its also nice to finally see the friendship between Stefan and Matt take shape!!! Which scene may you be referring to? :P
I agree Kayla was good in it. And I do love the exchange between Damon and Stefan on the rooftop. buffmetube(Quote)

I’m thinking Katherine Katherine Katherine! . I can just imagine it, “Oh, Elena, I thought you were dressed up as a nurse” …. “I’m not Elena!” hahaha Ivy(Quote)

Really, Elena? A nurse?
I figured TV Elena would be bit more creative.
Oh, well. Anything for ratings I guess.
(As long as ratings stunts include more shirtless Stefan or shirtless Damon scenes, I support them whole-heartedly) Emily(Quote)
