According to Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood Daily:

VAMPIRE DIARIES (Warner Bros/Alloy Entertainment) is next in line with the most heat. It’s a drama based on the series of books about vampire brothers and their girlfriend. “It screened very well the other day.”

(ETA: “Screened” for the network brass, not on TV. Just to clarify for people who may be confused.)

Guess we know what that “good news” was via Williamson and Siega the other night?

Also: “vampire brothers and their girlfriend” has us in stitches over here.

UPDATE: So, to sum up – things aren’t much different than they were before, competition-wise, though the Gossip Girl spin-off is no longer the sure thing it once was and The Body Politic and Light Years seem to have dropped off the buzz radar. We’re still two weeks out from the CW upfront on May 21st, so it’s still anyone’s game. But positive word on the Vampire Diaries screening obviously doesn’t hurt.

“vampire brothers and their girlfriend” sounds like an entirely different show on an entirely different network *snicker*

    “vampire brothers and their girlfriend”???

It’s the “Vampire Diaries” not the “Vampire Threesome”!
    =p

  • Demi

    wait.
    it’s already aired?
    whoa that was fast.
cookies to whoever can tell me where to get my hands on the pilot ep :)

No, it didn’t air. The pilot was screened for the network. Perhaps I should clarify that in the post.

  • Demi

    Ohh…thanks Vee!
    I can’t wait for it.
Glad that it’s surrounded by such a big ball of excitement.
The only thing that bothers me is it’s deemed as: “Twilight on TV”.
    Ugh. Sparkly vampires.

Seriously, why don’t they just call it the “Joyous Companions Forever Club”? *gag*

I think that was Nikki Finke’s wording, not theirs. ;) But now I am overcome with the intense desire to see a TVD webcomic called The Joyous Companions Forever Club.

    Whoo, good luck, VD! :D
