I’ve been tweeting to Julie Plec and Brian Young to have a Delena scene to Never Let Me Go since the album first came out!!! AAAHHH I’m so happy!

Last week I listened to all the potential Florence + the Machine songs they might use while everyone was speculating which it would be, and I decided “Never Let Me Go” was BY FAR the best choice. But a lot of people were saying it had been confirmed that “No Light, No Light” was going to be the song, so I accepted that while wishing secretly that it could have been “Never Let Me Go.” I was sooooo happy when it started playing! I gasped out loud in happiness.

Ever since we were told that a Florence and the machine song would be played during the ‘significant Damon and Elena” scene I only wished for NEVER LET ME GO.Even when everyone said that it got confirmed that it will be ‘No light no light” I STILL couldn’t give up to hope that it will be never let me go.All these weeks I’ve listened to this one song and imagined all the ways it could possibly happen for Delena, and now it actually played during their kiss AND WHEN IT BEGAN TO PLAY I BEGAN TO SCREAM. IT WAS JUST TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.
And I also LOVE the parallelism from all the Delena kiss songs,2×22 ”I should go”,3×10 ”Holding on and letting go” and now ”Never let me go”. It’s a work in progress ;) AND during their dance was ”all my agony fades away WHEN YOU HOLD ME IN YOUR EMBRACE” and now ”AND THE ARMS OF THE OCEAN ARE CARRYING ME”. Maybe I’m interpreting to much in it but I just can’t ignore this.
The whole lyrics as well as the melody of this song are sheer perfection and I still can’t entirely realize that it REALLY played during their kiss and THAT THIS IS NOT JUST FANTASY. A big thank you to everyone who is responsible for bringing this song into this scene and also the ones who cut it perfectly,as if this scene wouldn’t have been already enough to freak out the song was the cherry on the top :)
