Friday Night Bites is a weekly round-up for various tidbits of show and cast/crew news not quite big enough to warrant a blog post, not strictly Vampire Diaries-related, or that somehow just fell through the cracks. Please insert theme song by Explosions in the Sky here and enjoy.

Haha, I’ve no problem imagining the confusion of someone unknowing seeing the German #TVD ad :D

If I tell you know that the ads on TV between the new episodes not only include those chickens but also garlic bread without garlic (so vampires can eat it, you know) and stain remover called “Antiblood Oxy Vamp” (so that you can bring vampires home and have no problem cleaning the mess afterwards) … what do you think of us then? :D

  • Whoneedsthecullens

Sixx (the channel TVD is airing in Germany) is using the chicken as a mascot. Now, a chicken for a women’s channel. Hmm… I’m not really sure what to think about that.
I’ve seen the ad on the subway and my eyes nearly fell out… never expected TVD with a chicken. I would recommend a retriever with cute floppy ears … LOL

Hahahaha that German ad with the chicken really makes me miss Germany! You think that’s weird? You should see some of their MTV commercials…

  • Jen

The thing about the German advertisement:
Vampire Diaries aires in Germany on a channel called ‘Sixx’ it’s for girls – or chicks – only ;) So the chicken is the mascot. On the advertisement it is supposted to look like a vampire. The white caption says ‘Girls, it’s time to suck [blood]‘ … It’s not that confusing :D

Thank you for the explanations! Love it!

Just watched the Kat Grahm video. Hmmmm. I wish her well, but I wish she wouldn’t sing in her throat like Kermit the Frog. Weird. not what I was expecting.

  • dorkus

Kat is very talented but this is not my cup of tea. Not much singing there…harly can hear her voice, she can definitely move but too much “sexual” content as for my taste.

  • pjtpjt

It only says: Sorry, this video is not available in your region. Must be really super, though…

    Regarding Superfan Site Award:
Can I vote as often as I can?! Site refresh and vote, like about a 1.000 times…!? You truly deserve to win!

  • AbbyGraham

Aww, thank you! We’re not entirely sure, but there doesn’t seem to be any obstacle to voting multiple times.

  • James_Evers

I love this song! This genre of music is generally not my cup of tea but its infectious and I LOVE it. Kat Graham is amazing and so talented. No wonder I love Bonnie my fave so much, Kat is superb! Congrats Kat!!!

  • Dina

Lol Ian Who? The chicken must play the lead character!

  • julia

the vampire chicken is son loved the commercial! i laughed a lot because of the chicken :D

  • From Beginningg To End

They’re lucky they have a good channel for girls, here in Canada the only “girl” channels show marathons of Sex and the City and have stupidly sexist “mascot” girls being depicted as sexual objects. And these are the so-called “girl” channels, I think they must be owned by men.
