Just a couple more days until 1912 (EP316), so hang in there! We know the waiting is hard, and apparently so does the CW. They’ve kindly released an episode preview with Julie Plec. We’re not sure if it helps with the waiting or makes us more impatient, you’ll have to watch it and decide for yourselves!

Matt Davis is being cast as the lead character in a new 13 episode show called Cult for the CW.    Great news for Matt Davis, but I don’t want to loose Alaric permanently.  Please not Ric, I cannot imaging TVD without Alaric.  My heart is already breaking, which means I’m being selfish.

First Daniel Gillies with Saving Hope and now Matt Davis with Cult. I am really hoping they can still film TVD too.

I just posted the same thing on another link here!!! I know, I’m happy for Matt Davis, but what about Alaric? I love Alaric, and all he brings to the show… Alaric is such a big part of what makes TVD great!!! It’s gonna be a tough adjustment!

  • ihatepeople

It’s possible he could do both roles.  He might just disappear for a bit like Tyler has done twice now and Jeremy.  I know they love to shock people so I can’t say they’d never kill off his character but I think it would be a mistake.

    O.M.G Save AlARIC!

I read that the filming for Cult (13 episodes) is at the same time as TVD (22 episodes) films.  It is possible though for Matt to film TVD during the second half of the season.  I am already crying though because if Cult is successful, which for Matt Davis I hope it is,  I’m sure the CW will order more episodes.   (tears! tears!…sniff, sniff) Alaric is one of my most beloved characters.

Daniel’s show, Saving Hope, is a summer show and the filming is opposite TVD.  There is really not much of a conflict for him to continue being a recurring guest star on TVD.

    He’s alive :)

Wow, no more Alaric…say it isn’t so.  But, Matt is such a talented actor I’m sure his new show will be great…I’ll be watching.

  • ihatepeople

Except they did say the season of Cult will be shorter so you’re right it could be the back half of the season or he could film during any Cult hiatuses since we know shows love them! I like his character as well but I agree I’m happy for him getting a lead role.

I am 100% sure I’ll be watching Matt’s new show.  He will be the lead male.   Wow!  This is really great for him.

Also, Ian had tweeted on his way back to Atlanta from Paleyfest that he was reading the script for his movie.  I’m still waiting for the announcement of what movie he will be in and when the filming starts.  He is keeping it a secret for now.

YAY!  So happy over this one!
    (cheers!  cheers!)

    Matt Davis tweeted this out:

The CW has been gracious enough to allow me the opportunity to play two amazing characters simultaneously on their network….
And while it’s true I will be shooting the new CW pilot #Cult, please know, Alaric’s journey on TVD is far from over

  • ihatepeople

I’m sure I’ll watch it too not just for him but because the premise sounds interesting also.

I saw Ian’s tweet as well. Very exciting stuff. It was only a matter of time until someone offered him a movie. I’m sure we’ll be seeing a few cast members in future flicks. Exciting stuff to look forward to. Now what do we do to get thru the Summer? ;)

  • Georgia_Peach

What to do this summer?   Suits, Game of Thrones, True Blood, Covert Affairs, Burn Notice, Breaking Bad………. just suggestions…
Justified is on right now and I am a faithful viewer to that one.  The Walking Dead only has one more episode.  So not happy that Shane died in the last episode and not in a blaze of glory, but fighting over Lori (UGH), or as the awesome Daryl Dixon calls her “Olive Oil”.

Ian has done movies and a lot of HBO stuff.  I am looking forward to learning what his summer movie role will be. :)

Nina’s movie, Perks of Being a Wallflower comes out this summer so I’m sure she will be promoting it.  I think Paul’s movie, Baytown Disco,  comes out this summer too.

  • ihatepeople

Awesome news! Thanks for the info GP.

  • ihatepeople

I heard about Nina’s movie but is she a lead character or supporting? I rarely get the remote at my house. LOL. Actually we have 6 TVs so I could watch another one. I don’t watch many programs. Usually if I do it’s some true crime program. Never got into True Blood because I didn’t like the actors from the get go. I’m a bit behind on Walking Dead and seasons behind on Dexter. House and Big Bang will be ending soon too. Going to be at a loss for shows for me until TVD returns in the Fall.
