Hate to say it but I don’t think there was anything award worthy in the finale this year. Compared to last years it was terrible. The episode before it would’ve made a better finale.

Come off it. Compare this seasons finale to last seasons. This years doesn’t even come close to last years. Last seasons finale was probably the best finale out of all shows on all networks. This years one was anticlimactic after the events of the previous two weeks. Based in the standards the show set itself season 2 finale was seriously lacking.

Also, saying I don’t think the finale was award worthy doesn’t make me any less of a TVD fan. So you can stick that sentiment up your jumper.

UH OH!  Mac is in a bad mood today.  Just so you know Mac, we missed you while you were away.  :)

  • Mac

    :)
Not in a bad mood, just don’t like the implication that I’m not a true TVD fan if I didn’t rate the final episode. I see below there’s an award for “your penultimate episode was better than your finale” so I stand corrected. The finale is award worthy, it deserves this award.
Nobody died in the finale, except Elijah, and he’s not really dead so that doesn’t count. Elena and Damon’s kiss wasn’t a romantic kiss. Stefan going off with Klaus might scrape in as a cliffhanger but it wasn’t exactly a jaw dropping moment.

If they’d ended it with last weeks episode, with all the deaths, and Elijah betraying the guys and saving Klaus, and Damon being bitten, THEN I would’ve said yep, nominate the hell out of that finale, but they didn’t.

If course that doesn’t mean that others shouldn’t nominate the hell out of the actual finale, but for me it just doesn’t rate as a great season finale.

Uncle John’s death, and Jules’ weren’t in the finale.

I know, but considering there were no deaths in the finale besides Jeremy (who came back to life) and Elijah who didn’t fit any of the categories for me personally, they were the only ones I could think of for the category even though they weren’t the finale.

I also liked the one before the finale better, but I cried for Stefan (I never cry for Stefan) because he was becoming the thing he hates the most. That last scene with him killing the girl all vamped out with the blood running down his chin was so sad.  There was a lot to love in the finale, The KISS and I don’t think is was a pity kiss. The look on her face when she was told Damon had been bitten was awesome. Poor Elijah getting the dagger AGAIN was such a shock and the very funny line from Alaric “neither of us are drunk enough for this conversation” was great. Not a fan of Vickie coming back, she was so bad for Jeremy, but love Anna. So all in all I loved the ep, but the other one was awesome.

  • Mac

I don’t think it was a pity kiss either, but it wasn’t romantic either. It was sad and desperate and a little bit heart breaking I guess but not romantic.

Let me be clear before someone attacks me. I’m not saying there were no feelings behind it, just that the kiss itself and the moment it happened was in no way romantic.

  • Anonymous

Agree 100% about the kiss, she has had feelings for Damon, after all he has saved her life OFTEN and she has saved his, and next season working closely together to save Stefan, those feelings will grow.  That whole scene with Damon “dying” was heart breaking and the kiss was perfect.

You´re right, it wasn´t what I would understand to be romantic either, but that wouldn´t have fit into Elena´s character.
Simply changing sides and starting to make out with Damon wouldn´t have be her.
This was her, kissing the damaged, dieing (sorry how do you spell it?!#?@sh..) love-craving creature. I liked it anyway, it was better than another slap into Damon´s face;)

    best death: rose

All i can say is this is the best show ever…. I use to have something to look forward to after a long week of work..”THURSDAY  VAMPIRE DIARIES” I am lost now, i cant wait for the show to start up again, Damon is awesome, hes the best….. you never know what he is up too .. i bet evnetually him and alanah with gett together.  all though I rather have him get to gether with ME… LOL

  • Anonymous

That is right Mac, the kiss was not meant to be romantic, but it did show how much Damon means to Elena.  It was a starting point in the change of the dynamics between the two.
