Joseph Morgan as KlausHere are the official descriptions of the shows from the CW’s press release.

The Originals will air on Tuesdays at 8/7c:

Family is power. The Original Vampire family swore it to each other a thousand years ago. They pledged to remain together, always and forever. Now, centuries have passed and the bonds of family are broken. Time, tragedy and hunger for power have torn the Original Family apart. When Klaus Mikaelson, the original vampire-werewolf hybrid, receives a mysterious tip that a plot is brewing against him in the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans, he returns to the city his family helped build. Klaus’ questions lead him to a reunion with his diabolical former protégé, Marcel, a charismatic vampire who has total control over the human and supernatural inhabitants of New Orleans. Determined to help his brother find redemption, Elijah follows Klaus and soon learns that the werewolf Hayley has also come to the French Quarter searching for clues to her family history, and has fallen into the hands of a powerful witch named Sophie. Tensions between the town’s supernatural factions are nearing a breaking point as Marcel commands his devoted followers and rules with absolute power. For Klaus, the thought of answering to his powerful protégé is unthinkable, and he vows to reclaim what was once his – the power, the city and his family. While they wait to see if their sister Rebekah will leave Mystic Falls and join them, Klaus and Elijah form an uneasy alliance with the witches to ensure that New Orleans will be ruled by THE ORIGINALS once again. The series stars Joseph Morgan (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Immortals”) as Klaus, Daniel Gillies (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Saving Hope”) as Elijah, Claire Holt (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Pretty Little Liars”) as Rebekah, Phoebe Tonkin (“The Vampire Diaries,” “The Secret Circle”) as Hayley, Charles Michael Davis (“Grey’s Anatomy,” “Switched at Birth”) as Marcel, Daniella Pineda (“The Fitzgerald Family Christmas,” “Homeland”) as Sophie, Leah Pipes (“The Deep End,” “Sorority Row”) as Cami and Danielle Campbell (“Starstruck,” “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection”) as Davina. Plec wrote the pilot episode, which was directed by Chris Grismer (“The Vampire Diaries”).

The Vampire Diaries will air on Thursdays at 8/7c:

In the tumultuous fourth season of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, the world of Mystic Falls was turned upside down when the beautiful and compassionate Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) came face-to-face with her worst nightmare – life as a vampire. While Elena struggled to control her new powers and the overwhelming thirst for blood, the astonishing news that a cure for vampirism may actually exist reached Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) Salvatore, the two vampire brothers who love her. Their search for the cure leads the brothers, along with Elena’s brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and her best friends Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Caroline (Candice Accola), to a horrifying confrontation with the ancient and all-powerful immortal, Silas, who has been entombed with the cure for more than 2,000 years. But Elena isn’t the only vampire who longs to return to life as a human, and the question of who will take the cure is resolved in the heart-stopping season finale, along with moments of unexpected joy, unspeakable sorrow, and a confession of true love. The series heads into its fifth season with some characters headed off to college, a newly cured vampire trying to survive as a human, and a shocking Salvatore secret. Based on the series of books by L. J. Smith, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Outerbanks Entertainment, Alloy Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios. The series was developed by Kevin Williamson (“The Following,” “Scream”) & Julie Plec (“Kyle XY,” “Wasteland”), who serve as executive producers along with Leslie Morgenstein (“Gossip Girl,” “Pretty Little Liars”) and Caroline Dries (“Melrose Place,” “Smallville”).

Ok.. So now, after reading the description of TVD, we know for sure that the character who gets the cure tonight is going to be a vampire. Which means (My speculations and facts):

    * Bonnie is NOT getting the cure!

    * Katherine will NOT get the cure.. Because they say, the character is going to try to adjust in life as a human in season 5.. Which means, it’s going to be a MAIN character… And i don’t see Katherine being a main character in the next season. Not that i don’t want her to be lol :-P

    * Rebekah will NOT get the cure cos she’ll move to “The Originals” series.

So who gets the cure? That leaves us with:

    * Caroline (I doubt it)

    * Damon (Strong spoilers/articles say that he will NOT get the cure).

    * Stefan ( I strongly think that the cure will be forced on him by accident. Or, Elena could pick Damon and then Damon will hand Stefan the cure maybe? I don’t know lol ).

    * Elena ( I doubt that it’s gonna be her cos they just turned her… Unless the writers plan for a twist and make her comeback as something else lol ).

Too many things to think about. Afterall, season 4 ends tonight and i’m hyped up for season 5 already lol

I think Stefan is going to take the cure. Stefan is my favourite character in this show but him as a human is just going to annoy the hell out of me. Imagine him being treated like Elena did in the first three seasons, everyone always looking out for her and protecting her, it just got annoying.

So I hope someone like Caroline takes the cure, that would be fun and bearable but I highly doubt it.

  • JM_Salvatore

    I know right!

I highly doubt that they will give Caroline the cure cos she is more interesting as a vampire lol

Now i think that they would give Stefan the cure (or maybe Damon?) for shock value and a twist just so they can have fans talk about it the rest of the summer til season 5 starts lol

I’m almost positive on who takes the cure. A main character.. But this is TVD and we all know how they like to twist things up and add more shock value so it could be another character lol

  • Shanice

I don’t think that Elena will become human seeing as she’s just turned and even if she became human, she’ll become a vamp again.

  • Shanice

“a newly cured vampire trying to survive as a human” makes me think that this person is going to have a lot to deal with. I just hope its not Damon. He’s just too badass.

  • Debbie

Wow this is a huge spoiler…we are now pretty sure that the cure works the way it should, and that one of the main vamps take it. I’ve always thought it would be Stefan, he wants to be human and I think it would be a great way too deal with his guilt and ESP blood lust. I can’t wait for tonight’s ep!

  • CBA

Like you said in your original post, there are articles and major spoilers that say Damon does not take the cure. Elena has just turned so it defo won’t be her (again like you said). So that leaves Stefan, Caroline and Katherine. If it was Katherine that would be so awesome because you can just imagine her begging one of the bros to turn her again. Anyway here is me hoping that it’s anyone but Stefan that takes the cure.

  • CBA

Agreed, It would be pointless making Elena a human so quickly after her turning.

  • Debbie

I don’t think Stefan will be like Elena as a human. He’s much older and therefore smarter, his life experience will help him. He is also not as selfless as Elena, she is selfless to a fault, I think he’ll be smarter about it. And I think he has the knowledge to protect himself better than she did. I think making him human will be a great twist!

  • shezzabezza

OMG Katherine took the cure Katherine tried to kill Elena so she forced the cure into Katherine’s mouth *spoiler alert*

  • shezzabezza

silus is a doppelganger of Steffen and in season 5 silus is going to pretend to be Steffen the whole time also Steffen is locked in a vault at the bottom of a river and silus wants him to desacate the for 2000 years like silus did *spoiler alert*

  • shezzabezza

spoiler alert just in case somebody hasn’t seen it

  • james fallows

It sucks that bonnie’s dead!! She was my favourite character. I just hope they show if not more then atleast as much of her in season 5:)

  • EG_Diaries

Katherine got the cure on the season 4 finale. she is going to be the one trying to adjust to human life. Stefan Salvatore has a doppleganger which is silas. Stefan got locked in a safe and is now starving at the bottom of the river.
