The CW has released the official synopsis for The Vampire Diaries: Catch Me If You Can (EP411), airing Thursday, January 24th at 8/7c. Highlight for spoilers:

A NEW DANGER —
Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is furious when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) tries to control him by putting Matt’s (Zach Roerig) life in danger. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) coaches Jeremy as he prepares to take on Klaus’ new vampires, but they find that Kol (guest star Nathaniel Buzolic) has beaten them to it. Kol makes it clear that he will stop at nothing to convince everyone to give up the search for the cure. Looking for a new ally, Rebekah (Claire Holt) reminds Stefan (Paul Wesley) that they were once close friends. When Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) and Mayor Hopkins (guest star Rick Worthy) question Shane (guest star David Alpay) about his involvement in the Founders’ Council deaths, Bonnie (Kat Graham) steps in with questions of her own, and Shane’s responses push Bonnie to the edge of her powers. Elena (Nina Dobrev) negotiates with Klaus to keep Jeremy safe, but when danger suddenly appears from a totally unexpected enemy, Elena comes up with her own daring plan for Jeremy.
John Dahl directed the episode written by Brian Young & Michael Narducci.

     Good for you.
Just listening to the words is half the message or even less. The non verbal communication carries the meaning of the message not just the words.
Elena was conflicted and JP herself said it, Elena might have chosen Stefan in that moment but she spent her last moments with Damon on the phone which means Elena more than just cared for Damon.
I do analyze based on what I see in the whole picture. The deciding on how it should be is done by JP:-).

Big picture here.  Of course Klaus likes Stefan better than Damon. In fact I think he likes Stefan a little too much.  What could the most powerful, but loneliest  being on the earth want?  We know Klaus lives for vengeance and can’t even keep a relationship going with his family.  The only person he can seem to forgive is Stefan.  Klaus always goes back to the happy times in Chicago w/Stefan.  Maybe the underpinning for this season is Klaus’ desire to rip Stefan away from everything he loves and back to him.  If I’m right about Klaus compelling Elena to switch brothers, what more effective way to drive the betrayal wedge between triangle?  Just a nudge to push Stefan towards the dark-side of his nature, by inserting anger, jealously, and rage into his mind.  I even think the Klaus play for Caroline has hidden motives, because he knows Stefan and her are close friends.  Klaus is the puppet master this season – the pieces are in place, and he’s going to watch them dance. Besides if everyone is fighting they can’t organize to attack him while he’s weak.  Just some thoughts………..

     Hi William,

Bottom line….we both would prefer the true Vampire Sire Bond to be the tiny obstacle that can be worked around and not a compulsion by Klaus…. :)

I have been waiting for 3 years for the writers to finally give the audience Damon and Elena’s love story.  Going into the fourth season, it is definitely time to mix it up a bit with the relationships.

Good exchange. Wasn’t trying to push either side of the triangle.  In fact is both brothers have major character flaws.   The only one who loves her that’s not major f up is Matt.  That thread is just humming along in the background.

    LOL… okay.

That would indeed be the bottom line.  It took them 3.3 seasons to finally switch her emotional allegiance.  Here is too at least that long of being able to enjoy them play it out.

As always William that was a concise explanation. Damon is a very “intuitive” guy so I’m interested in seeing what happens to make him question if there is a way around it or if Elena has to convince him there’s a way around it because he has convinced himself none of her feelings are real. Next ep with Caroline, Stefan, Elena AND Tyler together might help clear some things up because clearly Care interpreted the sire bond stuff differently from what Tyler told her than Elena did.

So true, you think she would know better having been working with Ty.
