Couldn’t agree more :/  That was no love triangle! We have a saying ‘been led up the garden path’ and it sure feels like it :(

A heart stopping episode nevertheless, though, I didn’t get how Damon couldn’t travel back but Bonnie and Rebekah managed it?

He couldn’t get back in time because everyone left it up to him to deal with Ric all alone. I guess it wasn’t important to them if he died in the process as long as everyone else was together. Ironic because they expect him to handle all the hard stuff but they all treat him like the scum of the Earth. He literally has no one now. His best friend is dead, the woman he loved chose his brother and his brother let her die so now he’ll be pissed at him.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I should just know it by now …. no matter what he does or goes through to help he gets the short straw.  I’ve been hoping for so long this would change, and feel such a fool for thinking it, and being led to believe there’d be a chance :( I need to resign myself to not only SE being endgame but all the way through really …. no matter what is hinted at!

I just had this debate with my husband who thinks that’s because older women (anyone over 18) are attracted to Damon by his playboy behavior and wildness whereas as Stefan is more of a teenager attraction. I can buy that but where he and I completely disagree is that he seems to think older women would never want to see Damon tied down with anyone so they always let him be unhappy and unattainable leaving us to feel like one of us would be happy to save him. Where I disagree is that as a female I myself like the guy who seems to be all carefree and loose on the surface but underneath all he wants is true love and to see him never be good enough to EVER get the love of the one he loves I find heartbreaking.

I can see where your hubby’s coming from, sort of older women being the ones to rescue him and ‘calm’ him.  When I read your last sentence, the word that sprung to my mind was ‘deep’.  Damon has that wit and humour that makes you want to listen to what he has to say and he lets that be seen; underneath that he knows what he wants in his heart (true love) and will strive for it with such determination (that’s what I like); and Damon does this in the face of such adversity from so many sources usually and this never changes, and no one sees (or wants to see) he is good enough – and that’s what I find heartbreaking.

Did not get much from this interview other than JP is Stefan fixated, and we as fans do appricate the other cast members, but please dont lead us down that path of Elena and Stefan been there and  done that dont want to do it again.Let Damon have his day after all he does care and has a big heart.

I dunno, since the time I even started to notice boys on TV I’ve been bored with guys like Stefan. He kind of reminds of superman, who is so MORALISTIC and WHOLESOME to the extent that he’s pretty unrelatable (I can’t imagine any real person being so completely selfless that they’d let the person they love die to respect their wishes- I don’t agree with Julie here, it isn’t the same as taking someone off life support). My personal preference is just characters who aren’t so static, who you can see developing. Does anyone remember watching Stefan fall in love with Elena? I don’t, I just remember him showing up and being into Elena.

can I still listen do that interview somewhere? The mediaplayer link on that website doesn’t start. Is it just my computer or did it only work when it was live?

  • ihatepeople

I guess that’s suppose to be more real and “epic” than cultivating love.

  • a_softsong

No, that was Damon. Damon was the one that was there and Damon was the one she built a relationship with. It was not Stefan. Not on the show that I watched,
