The week has finally arrived! The 100th episode of The Vampire Diaries, 500 Years of Solitude (EP511) airs this Thursday, January 23rd at 8/7, and the cast and current and late, lamented guest stars are chiming in on their favorite moments from the first 100 episodes of the show.
First up, TV Guide get Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley to talk about their favorite scenes from the first 100 episodes of TVD:
FAVORITE FLASHBACK ERA
Somerhalder: I kind of got [cheated] out of the ’20s, I would’ve loved that, but 1864 when Stefan and Damon were running around playing football just being young and happy and full of vitality and life it was good.
Wesley: I really liked the ’20s, but I also like the Civil War time. I thought that was really cool.
E!Online has a handful of fun videos featuring the cast’s reminiscing on early episodes and teasing this week’s milestone:

Kayla Ewell chats with Zap2It about what she thinks Vicki Donovan is up to now (because death doesn’t mean you can’t watch out for your little brother!), how she always knew the show would have a long run, and what fans should expect from this week’s ep:
“I think the 100th episode is going to be really surprising. It’s really exciting and I think after it airs people will be talking about it a lot,” Ewell says. “If someone misses it, they’re going to wish they had seen it live. You always never know what to expect so when you’re watching it, you’re on the edge of your seat. It’s a show you have to watch before you go on Twitter or social media because everyone’s talking about it. Don’t DVR this show.”
Zap2It also caught up with everyone’s favorite small town sheriff (and The Originals writer!), Marguerite MacIntyre, to talk about being on both sides of the camera and Sheriff Forbes’s future:
“I don’t know what their trajectory is with Sheriff Forbes right now. She does show up in the 100th episode, but then I don’t really know what her thing is after that,” MacIntyre says. “I’m so wrapped up in ‘The Originals’ right now that I can’t possibly hold another thought, unlike ['The Vampire Diaries' and 'The Originals' executive producer] Julie Plec who is just some kind of a freak of nature. She’s amazing. I don’t understand how her brain could hold that much. But I’m always thrilled whenever I get to show up in an episode. It makes me happy.”
And the official Vampire Diaries Facebook has been posting cast exclusive videos – featuring scenes from TV100 – leading up to Thursday.
